Netflix Picks: A Sudden Swinging Sensation

Yeah, monogamy is great, but you know what's even better? Enhanced monogamy! That's the blanket term we're using to cover all instances of swinging, swapping, sharing, and/or third-wheeling. Today's double feature is a tribute to those times you look at your significant other and say, "I love you with all my heart and soul but you absolutely have to let me tap that right there."

1. The Blood Oranges: Fiona (Sheryl Lee) and Cyril (Charles Dance) are a married couple with an open relationship vacationing in Italy. One day, they meet Catherine (Laila Robins), Hugh (Colin Lane), and their three children who have all been stranded by a bus wreck. At one point, it comes out that Hugh has been taken nude photographs of local peasant women and couples, and so Fiona and Cyril invite him to their place to take pictures of them. One thing leads to another, husbands and wives pair off with their new friends, Hugh's dark secrets are revealed, and a whole lot of existential/philosophical smack talking takes place on the sanctity of marriage, the importance of the nuclear family, and other traditional values. At one point, Cyril uses the phrase, "Tasting the love lunch" in place of the word "sex," and it makes you want to punch him in the gut a little. Don't let that discourage you though, there's a bunch of fun to be had here, and you can find nudity at 3:00 (during the opening credits!), 34:00, 35:00, 41:00, 44:00, and 1:21:00.

2. The Garden of Eden: This story, based on a posthumously published novel by Ernest Hemingway, focuses on Catherine (Mena Suvari) and David Bourne (Jack Huston) during their extended honeymoon in the French Riviera. Catherine starts testing her husband in a variety of different ways, mostly erotic, and even experiments with gender-bending and pushing David's sexual and psychological limits. Her games get even more intense when she brings Marita (Caterina Murino) into their bedroom and they both fall in love with her. Naturally, this sends their relationship spiraling out of control and Catherine's instability starts to manifest itself in other ways that test David. Here's the thing: this movie got some bad reviews--in fact, so did "The Blood Oranges"--but it has a lot of great nudity and freaky moments, such as in the scene at the top. It's like, hey, how many movies have you seen when Mena Suvari fingers a guy's ass while she rides him cowgirl? Exactly. Look for that and other fleshy parts at 11:45, 18:00, 40:00, 40:45, 58:45, 1:15:45, and 1:23:00.
