We Don’t Say “Young Girls Love Sex” Out Loud; We Just Type It

Not that we brought a lot of porn home for Thanksgiving, but this title was one we especially didn't want Aunt Clare to see.

It is often said that life is wasted on the young. But porn isn't. This 4-scene celebration of the young but not virginal reaches its climax with Christy Mack, a tattooed brunette with blacquered fingernails who is just Trouble with a capital T.

And if you think it just feels weird and on the nose to even possess a movie with a title like this—a movie whose content is no different, save for the efficiency with which it was shot, from any other teen porn flick—you understand both the disposable nature of porn and the need for its denial; somehow "Young Girls Love Sex" sounds so much more naked than "Teen Gape Squad."

But don't think too hard about it. Instead, pay attention to inky and assured newcomer Christy Mack. The soundtrack doesn't give her much room to say stuff, but you know her interior monologue is all "I am making hay while the sun shines, bitches."

As she and Bruce Venture get to know each other on a couch that looks like Couples' Therapy Office to me, Mack doesn't so much look like a young girl as she does a seasoned pro; for all her curves and give, there is little that is soft about her. I think, ultimately, that the scandalousness of the title needs to be softened by the hardness of the scene.

If Mack acted too much like a young girl, this movie would be creepy. Luckily only the title is.
