A Strange Little Creature: The Revel Body Sonic Vibrator

The Revel Body looks, feels, and acts differently than any vibrator I've yet encountered. But is its unique snowflake-ness striking or sucky?

Now, we all probably know by now that Florabel knows her way around a vibrator. I've had the pleasure of testing out scores of sex toys -- and the Revel Body is basically the first I could not make heads or tails of through every step, from unboxing, charging, and saddling up. This actually did make for some frustration and delving into reading materials from the get-go which sort of dampened my masturbatory mood.

A series of blinking lights indicates when the Revel Body is charged (apparently three blinks means it is but I swear mine was blinking four). But regardless, after 90 minutes this little ball o' joy is ready to go -- and apparently can stay charged for a year which is pretty much insanity.

Once charged, I at first took its internal magnetic core out and replaced it the wrong way. And I was wondering why it didn't seem to be vibrating at all. Silly me! But it seriously did take me more than a few minutes to get the hang of this lil alien vibe. Check it out in proper working order below.

Okay, so that's it! I was now ready to take off into the carnal cosmos. So I pumped this thing up, placed it against me with the feather-lightest touch, as suggested, and -- basically felt nothing. What gives? I tapped it to the highest speed and nothin' doin'. I experimented with the lower speeds and found more satisfaction here. They were a bit rumblier, more of a familiar vibe vibe, and set my mind to use this as my launchpad.

I did like the round shape of the toy; it made holding it less hand-crampy than other models while allowing for a smooth range of sensory motion. I discovered after a bit of playing around that delicately rolling it over and around my clit was finally awakening some excitement. But honestly, the sensations here are so subtle I felt that I had been thrust into an edging session (you know, where you purposely draw out, tease and slow-jam yourself to a standing O).

I'd never really been one for the super slow and scenic route, usually opting instead for the in-out-and-over power of my Magic Wand style vibe. However, I was determined to get the hype over the Revel Body and allowed myself to relax and go along for the ride. And I did find that, after getting cozy with the lower settings, the higher sonic speeds had more of an effect. I actually prefer the other way, but apparently of you take this puppy to the bath in the above manner and place the open end upon your parts, the slight thrusting movement of the core creates a suctionnot unlike underwater cunnilingus. This is next on my list.

Overall though, the Revel Body is a slow burn of a sex toy. My initial frustration did give way to intrigue, and, finally, orgasm. I'm still honestly a little befuddled by the whole thing but also curious to further explore. I'd recommend this toy as either a an entré for a first-time fapper (the subtlety and nuance here I imagine to be divine if you're not accustomed to the hyper speeds of power-vibes) or for those wanting to slow down their self-love and take it to a contemplative level.

Personally, I leave the Revel Body a bit mystified but intrigued enough to keep playing. And, as is often the case for me, I may find my first impression to be way wrong. Here's to hoping, because I do see potential in this thing, it just must be unleashed. And oh, I'm up for the challenge.
