China Says No Thank You to Romantic Fiction Sites

EDITORIAL FEATURES

LOTR Slash Fiction NO

The next time someone says that Obama is a communist, share this tidbit with them. China has begun a campaign titled "Cleaning the Web," which aims to remove all the smut and porn and filth and cocks and balls and slash fiction from the internet.

Hang on a second, they're targeting slash fiction? You read that right. According to AVN (link below), the campaign has just shut down "more than 20 internet fiction websites, including Jinjiang Literature City and the Hongxiu platform."

According to wantchinatimes.com, "These websites have attracted lots of fans of Yaoi or Boys' Love manga, which deals with homoerotic male sexual relationships, usually written by women. Female fans of the genre are called 'fujoshi' in Japanese which translates to 'rotten women.'"

While they have not divulged the reasons for targeting these relatively soft core sites, it's clear that any sexual orientation considered outside of the norm is as offensive as hardcore pornography.

Karl Marx once said, "art is always and everywhere the secret confession, and at the same time the immortal movement of its time." He'd have to amend that "everywhere" to say "everywhere but China," which is an ironic shame. Anyway, enjoy this gallery of "artistic" nudes.
