If truth is beauty, than A Beautiful Body Project: The Bodies of Mothers (Green Writers Press) by Jade Beall is beautiful, for it tears away the false fantasies of prefab feminine sexiness and exposes the raw hotness of women who have given birth. Their bodies were fuckable, and continue to be fuckable, regardless of the warped criteria of media and cultural mores. These women’s bodies are sexier due to their cellulite, the extra curves and stretch marks. These women are experienced. Have you ever been experienced? You’ll want to after looking through the pages and pages of MILFers capture here.

This is the first in a series of books with the agenda of reclaiming a woman’s body for the beautiful figure it is through photographs and stories. Motherhood is explored in all its joys and sorrows, from aging and cancer to stillbirths and miscarriages to weight gain and weight loss, dsymorphia and so much more. Sounds like a hard-on in the making? Maybe yes, maybe no. But if you’re anything like us, these stories of real women and their struggles are attractive in a way more profound and therefore more orgasmic than the plastic and shallow bullshit that’s often peddled as porn.

The book isn’t exactly breaking any new ground, but we’re happy to have its voice added to the ongoing dialogue of what makes us hot. Some people love superhero movies and others prefer the more quiet and realistic dramas that they can relate to. There’s room for all of us under the banner of arousal. We’re creatures with emotions and dimensions deeper than Hollywood and Porn Valley give us credit for.

This movement starts in an odd place. For us, the shot heard around the world was the release of the first American Pie movie, with it’s acronym MILF, which we all now know means Mother I’d Like to Fuck. This film did us all a great service, for while it featured lots of nudity from nubile women, it also acknowledged how desirable a woman of a certain age is, a woman with practical knowledge and the skills that come with is (that, in turn, help you come). It finally spoke out loudly on a mainstream platform something the older (and some lucky youngsters) among us always knew, that female beauty only gets better with age.

Jade Beall knows this. She has been a photographer, a massage therapist and a dance teacher for women for over a decade. This first volume of the series features non-digitally-augmented images of women, which means no airbrushing. “This is the heart of the project,” she says, “to celebrate us as us, nothing more, nothing less.” Well, hopefully, with less than more. Nudity is still the medium that provides the greatest artistic vision. And our vision isn’t blurry. These are naked and half-dressed women. But, honestly, we prefer to think of these women as half-naked, rather than half-dressed. We’re just optimists that way.

Beall is on a mission. The Beautiful Body Pledge is as follows: “I want to join the movement and agree to love my body more and more each day, to use kind words towards myself and towards other women, to be a role-model for future generations of mothers, and to choose to be empowered knowing that I am not alone, and that by coming together, we can reshape body image in mass-media, build self-esteem, and explore vulnerability as a collective.” Amen, sister. And get naked for lustful men like us, don’t forget that.

We should all be happy in our own skin, for under our clothing we are all the same, naked. It fills us with an almost irrational joy paging through this book. We see so many woman, so proud of who they are, it makes us want to be intimate with them. But all we have is the book. What do we do? Well, the answer is eat them, of course, like communion, but better, for we’re taking into our mouths not some dead skinny Jew, but live, vibrant and hot babes. Don’t be afraid to join us in this unusual literary fetish. The book has been printed in Vermont on recycled paper—using soy-based inks/chlorine free. It’s good for you!
