Does Waxing Leave You More Susceptible To STDs?

Men and women are getting rid of their pubes at alarming rates, and that's leaving them more and more susceptible to things far worse than razor burn. We've turned to resident STD experts MTV (link below) for more information on these startling statistics. 

Researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the University of Texas at Houston and Tufts Medical Center looked at the latest research and concluded that, “although relatively safe,” waxing the bikini (or Speedo) area “can cause microtrauma to the skin and its underlying structures.”

Microtrauma, eh? That doesn't sound good. Is it good? Help us out here MTV.

That could just cause a harmless temporary burn, but also “causes deficits in the mucocutaneous barrier that may be sufficient for viral entry and transmission, potentially increasing the risk of acquiring sexually transmitted infections.”

I have to say, and maybe this is just me, but trimming is the only way to go with public hair. Maybe it's because I have daughters, and I changed my fair share of diapers, but I just don't find waxed pubic areas sexy in the least. I know a lot of guys do, like Jordan Belfort, and I'm not looking to cast aspersions here, but I think that guys who are only turned on by hairless women have serious psychological issues. I'm not saying they're deranged, but they definitely have dark desires that I can't really understand. Perhaps someone would like to prove me wrong.
