Miley Cyrus: ‘I Feel Like My Art Became A Metaphor’

In a continued effort to demonstrate that she understands neither art nor metaphors, high-cut unitard enthusiast Miley Cyrus is going to have her "sculptures" displayed as part of an art show in New York beginning today.

According to The Guardian (link below), Miley, who is arguably the second or third best thing father Billy Ray ever created, spent a whopping two and a half months bedazzling hamsters and gluing joints to vibrators. 

“I had a bunch of fucking junk and shit, and so instead of letting it be junk and shit, I turned it into something that made me happy... This seems so fucking lame to say but I feel like my art became kind of a metaphor – an example of my life.”

Miley, it's not lame so much as it is delusional. Do you think that any serious artist who actually, I don't know, got a degree in the arts, thinks that what you're doing is art? 

Besides the blunt/dildo and the hamster toy, Cyrus’s sculptures makes use of teddy bears, cameras, party hats, masks, USB keys and a pineapple. “I did the pineapple because you know what they say about pineapple, right?” she said. “If you drink a lot of pineapple juice you’re going to have yummy cum. So that’s why I put it on the dick with a bunch of babies, and it says, ‘Fuck.’ I try to think about everything so it has a story to me.”

“I just sit around and smoke weed anyway, so I might as well sit around, smoke weed, and do something. And this is me doing something.”

I think it was Magritte that coined the phrase I might as well do something. We're not even to my favorite quote of all, however...

“They say money can’t buy happiness and it’s totally true,” she said. “Money can buy you a bunch of shit to glue to a bunch of other shit that will make you happy, but … obviously the shit you buy doesn’t make you happier because I’m sitting here gluing a bunch of junk to stuff.”
