Syd Blakovich stars in Trouble Films' latest release "Lesbian Curves 3: Soft Girls & Strapons" where Blakovich tops lovely BBW Cinnamon Maxxine. You can always rely on Blakovich to serve up hard queer porn goodness in every scene, and director Courtney Trouble gets nothing but her best here. Blakovich is one busy boi and it's super easy to keep tabs on all things Blakovich by going to SydBlakovich.com. Here are her answers to twenty questions.
1) What kind of boi were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?
I was an odd one in high school. Angst-y, jock, nerd, raver... My gender was tom-boyish and I didn't really date...too anti-social for that.
2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?
My official introduction to porn was in college but more from an academic stance and researching prospective. I wrote my thesis on the intersections of art and pornography within the queer arts. After I graduated, I interned for On Our Backs Magazine which was the first dyke hardcore print magazine and at Good Vibrations. While at Good Vibes, we had to watch a lot of porn to get acquainted with the product, and the standout film of the time was Belladonna's Evil Pink; it became an instant best seller.
3) What/Who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?
I've done a wide variety of things on camera, some really out there. I feel pretty good about how things have gone and don't know if I have any lingering things I feel the need to do. I actually spend more time behind the cameras these days editing for CrashPadSeries.com, so it's a nice change to get to appreciate other performers' work and get a new prospective on shooting.
4) Who is your favorite female performer to work with and why?
I think it was really a dream come true to shoot Strapped Dykes with and for Belladonna. She was incredibly approachable and passionate, which shows in her scenes.
5) What do you think of having fans who follow you on Twitter?
To be honest, social media is a little odd on the whole, that is, to have these interactions. This is compounded by the fact that there are people out there who know details about your life or rather your career as this personae. Porn is this very strange thing where there's such a level of intimacy individuals have with their porn consumption, but on the production side it's far more removed from all that. In the beginning, making porn was very much a part of my everyday life and who I was. I was allowing myself to play these hyper-exaggerated aspects of my personality which congealed into this character. A lot has changed in the past nine years for me, but the thing about porn is that it ages slower than real life. People might be watching videos and interviews I did back in the day and for them it's like we had this moment yesterday. It's this odd time capsule with a Groundhog's Day-style effect. Now, I have a definitive separation from porn which is strictly occupational these days. I take pride in the work I do, but I think it's healthy to have boundaries around work and personal life regardless of your job. Sorry I got sidetracked... but it's very surreal having the ability to craft a digital character and then have people connect and interact with it, especially when it collides with IRL people, and especially when the past becomes this frozen continuum.
6) What’s your favorite position to get fucked in/fuck someone in and why do those positions get you off?
I don't really have favorites, but I am a service top, so what makes her happy generally makes me happy, which I find is the key to success in my married life. Ha!
7) What directors/studios have you most enjoyed working for so far?
I am a permanent part of Pink & White Productions and work a lot for CrashPadSeries.com. I occasionally work for Kink's Ultimate Surrender, and have shoot a few times for Trouble Films. I am a Northern California resident and work locally these days. When I was traveling a bit more, I would work for Triangle Films and Girlfriends in LA. Shooting for Belladonna was also great.
8) What do you edit porn-wise?
Mentioned this before, but I edit regularly for the queer porn site CrashPadSeries.com. I also work a little bit for PinkLabel.TV which showcases independent adult videos with an artistic slant.
9) What are the best things about being a porn star?
Getting paid well to have sex! Also there is a good sense of community around sex work that leads to meeting some very awesome people.
10) What did you enjoy most about being in "Lesbian Curves 3"?
Courtney Trouble is a fantastic artist and I am always impressed with the quality of their work. I know that I am going to look good and the final product is going to be stunning, if not award-winning. I enjoyed this scene in particular because it was in line with where I am at in my porn career. I play this sex worker / masseuse who comes in to relieve Cinnamon Maxxine's stress.
11) What was working for Courtney Trouble like?
Working for Courtney is like going to a well-organized party where everyone is having a good time and hooking up.
12) What do you think is your hottest scene overall in your career?
I don't have a favorite at this point so I will let you all decide... write it in the comments.
13) What advice would you give on how to be great at using a strap-on?
First thing would be having the right gear. Different harnesses fit different body types so it's important to do research. Leather with D-rings can be a nice snug fit good for hard and fast action, but jock-styles and cloth harnesses are good for extended wear, or if the other materials feel too hard on your body. Obviously make sure the dildo is the right size for your partner and will fit properly in your harness. Aesthetics are important, too, because feeling sexy is about looking it. Physically, it doesn't hurt to stretch and workout, builds stamina and prevents injury if you are in it to win it. One small overlooked tip is leading with the hips while maintaining good posture and spinal alignment.
14) Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?
I don't really believe in role models. There are people who I respect that are professional and passionate about their work, but at the end of the day everybody is human and makes mistakes. If you follow someone else's footsteps, you're never going to get where you want to be. I believe in having friends that encourage and support your dreams. Having role models will potentially set you up for failure.
15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?
Can't say I watch many mainstream movies. I was babysitting recently and watched Freaky Friday with Lilo. Child actors fascinate me--couldn't imagine what it would be like growing up and learning how to fabricate emotional responses in myself or others on that level. I was a nanny in Studio City during college and was around a handful of child actors. It's probably the oddest industry I've witnessed.
16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?
So as far as some great new porno, everyone should check out Bonus Hole Boys which features smoking hot FTM hardcore gay action along with Foxhouse Films, an up-and-coming NYC-based queer porn company with great BDSM scenes. You can see their work and more over at PinkLabel.TV
17) Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you a low-tech with your own orgasms?
Well I learned through my travels that hands can be the most versatile and convenient tool at your disposal. But if you are looking for a little help, the Magic Wand can help you maximize your time, and the NJoy Eleven can hit those hard-to-reach spots. SpareParts has some good jock-style harness, and Vixen set the gold standard on dual density silicone dildos; although, I am sure the market has expanded since I stopped slinging toys myself. If any companies out there what to send some goods my way, hit me up!
18) If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be? Give us your male and female choices.
A pre-break up Cara Delevingne / Michelle Rodriguez sandwich? I would totally top Justin Bieber. Ha! Ha! Ha!
19) What is coming up for you?
A lot, but I can't talk about it right now so follow me on twitter and stay tuned @SydBlakovich.
20) Is there anything you want to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?
Just want to say thank you to Fleshbot and all the readers for their years of support. You have always been super kind and I hope you enjoy yourselves.
