Play-Doh’s Product Design Team Falls Asleep At The Wheel

It's got to be fun working as a toy designer for a company like Play-Doh, but I'm willing to bet that the last few days have been anything but fun for whomever designed that thing right there. That is part of the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Cake Mountain Playset, and while part of me wants to think that was all harmless fun, the fact that it's referred to by the company as the "Extractor Tool" just kind of drives home what we were all thinking...  

According to Gawker (link below), several outraged parents claim that that little piece of plastic "Ruined Christmas."

As observed by Uproxx, parents who bought their children the set for Christmas have been posting their complaints to the company's Facebook page—with photos. The poor social media manager in charge of the account has been deleting the photos, but it would appear the dick has gone viral. (Indeed, a number of new posts to Play-Doh's Facebook page are now linking to Uproxx's story.)

Last month, Play-Doh confirmed to a Tulsa TV station that they were planning to replace the extruder with something less phallic, but apparently not soon enough.

Hey Jennifer Turner, why don't you join me over in Tucker's Corner for a moment. The only thing that "ruins" Christmas are morons such as yourself who think that shit like this ruins Christmas. Chances are your daughters never thought it looked like a dick until you freaked the fuck out about it. Granted, Play-Doh should have known better, but honestly, the vast majority of children in America will look at that and say, it's a cake thing for the cake set. The minute you came unglued about it, you—and only you—destroyed your children's innocence. Also, the fact that your hand dwarfs that thing makes me question your judgment about realistic depictions of penises.
