Twenty Questions with Returned Porn Star Maya Divine

AVN nominated porn star Maya Divine (AKA Wendy Divine and wife of AVN Hall of Famer Eric Masterson) is back after a five year break from porn. Hope she has another great time doing dirty things for our viewing pleasure!

How was your break from performing? What made you decide to come back?

"My break from performing was good for me. I was able to go back to school and get a couple of degrees with the time off. I decided to come back to the industry because I wanted to make the most of my time now. I’m at the MILF age and I may as well use it while I can. My husband is also still in the biz, so I thought it would be a good time to use his resources as an agent at OC Modeling to make things work more smoothly for me."

Why did you choose OC Modeling to represent you?

"Eric Masterson is my husband, who happens to be an agent at OC Modeling. As a result, it was an easy choice to make. Plus, I think that Sandra and Anthony, and of course my husband, are great people to work for and with. It’s a great fit for me."

What did you enjoy most about being a porn star?

"I enjoyed working in porn when there used to be more acting with fun roles and characters. It was nice to play different characters that had more depth to them. However, I also enjoyed being able to have fun on set with those I worked with and for, as well as see the excitement from the fans anytime I had something new come out."

How is being married to a fellow porn star? What works best in your marriage to Eric Masterson?

"I was married to Eric before we were in the industry. We got in to the industry together and I helped him get his career going, before I went to working with other people. I have a great deal of respect and pride for my husband and how he is when it comes to work. I feel privileged to have him as my husband. What works best for us is our total honesty, loyalty, and faith in each other. We are 100% supportive of each other ,and we have such a great level of communication and trust between one another, that it makes life easier as well as work."

What kind of advice would you give to a woman who wants to be a great wife?

"Patience, honesty, and try to understand that men are going to have different interests. We all do really, but if you plan on getting married, get to know what your husband wants, likes, or needs. Then make sure you keep on communicating as much as possible. It may be hard at first, but keep at it. Staying honest is the best thing I can offer to anyone in any relationship. Though, it’s best done from the start, it’s still doable if you have to start over as well."

What in porn has changed the most in your five-year absence?

"There’s much more web stuff and cam shows, but there’s also tiny parts in movies, rather than bigger budgets—that’s the most places that I’ve seen change. I prefer to have more substance to my movies, but that’s me. Now, it seems like everything is online in some form or another. Also, social media has skyrocketed."

What’s your favorite position to get fucked in and why does it get you off?

"I prefer missionary position, mainly because I can look into someone’s eyes and also use my hands or a toy to play with myself. It makes it that much hotter."

What kind of movies do you want to be in?

"I would love to be in bigger budget movies with more acting and more in depth character roles. I love getting into a different persona. Now that I’m older, I would really love to play some crazy roles where I can be a bad guy or who knows what. I just want to have some fun."

Are you nervous about this comeback at all?

"I’m not really nervous so much as anxious about getting back in the biz. I really just want to get started and feel like I’m back and doing it already. I’m really excited, and just can’t wait to get it going again."

What do you feel that people misunderstood most about being a porn star?

"I honestly feel like the two things that most people misunderstand, or don’t seem to think about when it comes to being a porn star, is that we are all human and just because we’re on screen naked doesn’t mean we aren’t educated. That and the fact that so many people speak to you differently because they feel it’s OK to talk dirty or disrespectfully anytime they want out of the blue. A job is a job. If I was a famous mainstream actress, I would probably get a lot less penis photos, but who knows."

Is there anything/anyone that you want to do this time around?

"I want to do as much as I can accomplish. I’m looking forward to meeting new talent and also working with those I missed out on the last go around. I have plenty of people to catch up with, and I can’t wait to start ticking them off my list. Never know who’s going to be next."

What are your “must-own” DVDs that you think your fans should see?

"I would have to say the ones where I was nominated or those where I’m on the cover. I can’t name just one or two."

Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?

"Nina Hartley! She’s a classy lady and still looking awesome. She’s wonderful, talented, and totally down to earth. I’ve always enjoyed her kindness and the fact that she really does respect herself and others when she’s working or otherwise. She’s just beautiful."

What do you most want to achieve in the porn industry this time?

"I’d love to be able to get nominated again for something. But, I just want to accomplish getting back in the biz and having fun. Regardless of what I manage to do, I just want to make sure I enjoy it all while I still can. I would love a great character role in a good movie, a nomination for something cool, and perhaps another box cover or two. But hey, a girl can dream. Either way, I’m happy to be back no matter what."

What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

"I’m partial to sci-fi fantasy movies, so I’d have to say Marvel’s Civil War with Captain America. I love the franchise and look forward to seeing more of their movies. I’m also a lover of scary stuff like The Conjuring, but I’m not going to see The Conjuring 2, because it can be a little too scary at times. LOL I do love the new series on Netflix called Stranger Things. It’s awesome."

How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

"Of course if I’m going to watch porn I’m going to watch my husband. I have to say though that I love some of his older work the best. I need to catch up on some of his newer stuff now."

Do you like toys or do you like to use your hands more?

"I like using a pocket rocket when possible. If I’m working, I’ll use my hands, but I’m happy either way."

If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be? Give us your male and female choices.

"My celebrity choices would be Charlize Theron for female, because she’s so sexy that I can’t help it. I would love to spend even just a few minutes with her. As for my male choice, wow… tough one. Jeremy Renner and I love his Hawkeye character, Robert Downey Jr. because he’s great all the way around. And while he seems complicated, I’d love to spend some time with Johnny Depp. And, Will Smith is pretty darned awesome, too. I like interesting people."

What is coming up for you?

"As of right now, I am co-hosting a radio show, Lastcallradioshow.com. It’s nice getting to meet people and hear about them while I’m doing the work. I’m also looking forward to just getting back in to doing scenes. I’m on DreamLover and other social media. I would love to have my own radio show. And of course I just want to work, work, work. All the PR just got released, so I’m excited to see how it all turns out real soon."
