Checking In with Girlsway’s Girl of the Year Jelena Jensen

Jelena Is the Champ!

AVN All-Girl Performer of the Year nominee Jelena Jensen won Girlsway's Girl of the Year title for 2016 recently. She took home a cash prize along with the coveted title. It seemed like a great time to check in with the beauty. She really is such a true star.

Congrats on being Girlsway's Girl of the Year! How does it feel to have won that honor?

"Thank you! It feels amazing to have won! Girlsway is one of my most favorite adult companies to work for and it's an honor to represent them this year. I just can't believe that after almost fourteen years of shooting adult content, I'm still gaining accolades. Feels great to know that the fans still love my work!"

What will you be doing with your prize?

"I'm going to donate some of it to my favorite dog rescue here in L.A., Sunny Saints St. Bernard Rescue, and then invest the rest."

What do you think makes Girlsway's scenes special?

"So much attention to detail is given to everything that Girlsway produces. Bree Mills writes a lot of the scripts and she actually has a background in film production, so her scripts are actually good and Stills by Alan and his crew put so much effort into making sure the scenes are shot well. Alan is great at directing and the whole crew makes you feel like family...it's just a great environment to be around. Plus, they shoot a lot of member fantasies, where members can submit a script and it gets made. I really think this keeps things fresh with all the ideas that the Girlsway members bring to the table."

Congrats also on your nomination for AVN All-Girl Performer of the Year! What do you believe makes an excellent girl/girl scene?

"Thank you! I'm actually nominated for both AVN and XBIZ All-Girl Performer of the Year this year! [Jenna Sativa took the XBIZ Award for that home last week. The XBIZ Awards show hadn't happened yet when I conducted this interview with her. - HK] It's so nice that I'm finally being recognized for my work in the girl/girl side of the business. It's hard to say what exactly makes an excellent girl/girl scene because they can all be so different and all have various things that make a scene great. For myself, I just think chemistry between the performers, good story or direction, and great camera skills and lighting make an excellent scene."

How does being Girlsway's Girl of the Year rank among your porn experiences to date?

"This is definitely up there with becoming a Penthouse Pet and winning my previous AVN and XBIZ awards. It's a huge highlight of my career and something I'm proud to show off."

What do you hope to do in your time with the company as the Girl of the Year?

"I hope to represent Girlsway as much as I can and to shoot some amazing scenes this year. I know we have some exciting stuff planned, including something I've never done before. You'll have to use your imagination and wait until it's released because I'm not giving you any hints. I'm also excited to shoot with some of the beautiful women I have on my wishlist. I think 2017 is going to be an amazing year at Girlsway!"

What have you found people assume about all-girl performers that simply is not true?

"That we're all lesbians! Just because I only choose to work with women on camera (other than boy/girl scenes I shoot with my husband for jelenajensen.com), doesn't mean I'm a lesbian. I'm bisexual in my personal life and I love my job because I'm able to have sex with some of the most beautiful women AND I get paid for it! But at the end of the day, I go home to my husband. Best of both worlds!"

Other than being Girlsway's Girl of the Year, what else would you most like to achieve in your porn career?

"I've honestly achieved quite a bit for an adult performer. I guess to top everything off would be winning one of the All-Girl Performer of the Year titles! We'll just have to wait and see."

What is coming up for you?

"I've been taking a much needed break from shooting so I don't really have any new scenes coming out other than my weekly updates on jelenajensen.com. I'm hoping to start shooting again in February for Girlsway, so expect some really hot scenes to debut on Girlsway in a couple months or so. Also, I'm sure I'll be shooting at least one more feature for Girlsway this year as well. My next appearance will be at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo next week in Las Vegas. You can find me there in the Girlsway booth on Friday, January 20th from 5-7 p.m. only."
