Indie Porn Review: “His Was First in My Ass”

My favorite place for inspiration is erotic literature. Despite the rumors, it's not all cheesy romance novel fare - a lot of it is dark or introspective, and it often unapologetically explores real fantasies and not cliched phrases like "slick folds." Gross. Anyways, this week's indie porn film from Erika Lust, done for her XConfession series, is about erotic lit - in a way that's almost sexual inception. The video is inspired by a write-in fantasy, and the write-in fantasy is inspired by an erotic novel. 

"I believe in the power of books to change the world. I believe in the power of erotic literature," the submission begins. "Some time ago, I thought sodomy was a thing that only men enjoyed. I invented all sorts of excuses not to have anal sex with my boyfriends, because I thought I’d feel humiliated and even ugly. Until I came across Toni Bentley‘s book The Surrender through an article in a newspaper.

I read a few free excerpts and felt instantly excited. It was like a revelation: that woman felt so powerful while having anal sex… So attractive… Why not… After all, that hole is, well, always around, and sometimes it seems weird to ignore its existence."

I waited until I met the right man, someone I could feel 100% comfortable with. Then, as the book puts it: His was first. In my ass. Now it has become a usual pleasure… and my great pride."

The scene based on the submission begins in a beautiful room, with the even more beautiful Tiffany Doll reading aloud from the original novel. Jay Smooth, her scene partner, gets out of the shower still dripping wet and lays down next to her, reading over her shoulder before taking the book and reading us an excerpt himself.

"The truth always shows itself with the ass," he says. "It can't lie. It hurts physically if you lie." The author - Bentley - isn't wrong. Anal sex is nearly impossible to perform if you're not completely aroused and comfortable. It makes for an interesting premise, and one that led the both the author of the book and the submission to wait for the right guy. Hence the title: "His Was First in My Ass." 

It's also a real-life fantasy for many people - to be reading erotic literature, turned on by its contents, only to have a lover find the book and fulfill your obvious fantasies. Tiffany wears a fabulous bodysuit and knit sweater that I will absolutely be emulating at home myself, and Jay's wet hair is an authentic and sexy touch. The sex doesn't take too long to get started despite the reading either. I did find Tiffany's accent to be a bit distracting due to how thick it is (she's French and has a beautiful voice), and I think I would have preferred she read it in French and then read excerpts. But hey, it's still an incredibly powerful part of the scene. 

The go down on each other to get the scene started, which will of course be crucial for pleasurable anal, but one part I found particularly refreshing is how Jay jerked himself off while he ate out Tiffany the second time. I think there's a bit of a fallacy that a guy will stay rock hard throughout a sex session even when he's not being stimulated, which isn't totally true - so it was great to see a solution we don't normally see on screen. 

Eventually, after plenty of PIV sex, Tiffany pulls out a vintage tin filled with butt plugs (something else I obviously need) and Jay loosens her up with a vibrating pink one first. This is another authentic and sexy touch, especially with anal newbies; you simply need to stretch out with something a bit smaller than a cock first, despite how pervasive the "anal virgin taking a massive dick for the first time" fantasy seems at times. My only complaint? They didn't use any lube during the plug or anal play (on screen, at least) - and as we all know, assholes don't lubricate themselves. But I digress - it's a movie. 

One thing I was delighted to see - during the initial reading of the book, we see a close-up of a page printed with the name Colette!!!

The scene is very hot and incredibly well shot, as all of Erika's films are, and both Tiffany and Jay are phenomenal performers. The thing that caught my attention about this particular scene, though, is the particular fantasy of possession. Not a violent or controlling kind of possession, but the kind so many of us find erotically gratifying - when our bodies "belong" to someone we love and trust. It's not everyone's cup of tea, of course, but it certainly is one of mine. I love knowing that my partner is the only one whose accessed certain parts of my body and he loves knowing that, too. There's something delicious about giving someone that kind of power, and it's so much easier to enjoy the experience when you know that power won't be mishandled. 

It's a certain kind of submission, yes, but it's also not something I hear (or read) discussed often. As many people as there are who find open relationship and polyamory incredibly freeing, there are just as many who find a lot more than just security when they surrender their bodies to one person, at least at a time - they genuinely get off to it. 

The scene ends with the most perfect line: "My ass, knowing only him, knows only bliss."
