The States That Are Questioning Their Sexuality The Most

Even as the government tries to silence the LGBTQ voice, more and more folks are coming out, under all letters of the alphabet. A group that has gained a lot of traction and presence is the bisexual community. Even looking at Hollywood, a number of celebrities, mostly women, have come out identifying as bisexual. According to some experts in the field, we are all a little bisexual on some level, or most of us have some curiosity about same sex action. When it comes to sexuality in today's day and age, there's a sense of anything goes, even as a conservative wave tries to take over.

Last month, sex toy company Babeland did a study on sexual identities in America. Using Google Trend data, the report identified which states searched questions about self-identifying sexuality the most. To keep things even regarding smaller states, 100K residents per state were compared. Questions like "Am I gay?" and other like identifiers, such as "bisexual signs," "lesbian signs," were used to determine the number of the population that were questioning their sexuality.

One of the sex experts at Babeland put it perfectly, reflecting on recent polls that show about 10% of Americans now identify as LGBTQ+. It isn't that we all of a sudden have more queer folk; we've always been here. The fact is, more of the population is comfortable identifying as queer. Representation in media and trailblazers in politics have made being out of the closet less taboo. In any case, more folks are exploring the fact that they may be queer, or some quotient of queer.

Here are the top takeaways from the Babeland report:

One in ten Vermont residents has questions about their sexuality, whether as gay, bisexual, or somewhere in between. Vermont has the highest rate in the country. Vermont has always been very supportive of the LGBTQ community. Remember that Vermont was the first state to legalize same sex relationships.

Utah has the highest rate in the nation when it comes to bisexuality. "Am I bi?" is searched about 28K times per month. C'mon, Mormon bisexuals!

Oregon has the highest rates when it comes to asking about coming out. So, if you live in Oregon and you suspect your office crush might be gay or bi, they just might be!

Here are the top ten states questioning sexuality in order of highest rates.

Vermont

North Dakota

Utah

Wyoming

Maine

New Hampshire

Rhode Island

Alaska

Delaware

Oregon
