Amazon Makes Wish List Policy Change That Could Expose Adult Performers Shipping Address

CREATOR'S CORNER

An upcoming Amazon policy update, effective March 25, 2026, is sparking widespread concern among adult content creators who rely on public Amazon Wish Lists to receive fan support and gifts.

Amazon Wish List support is even built into OnlyFans profiles, something that allows content creators to easily accept "gifts" from fans. But now doing so could potentially expose their shipping address to the very fans buying those gifts.

The announced change removes the current option for Wish List owners to restrict purchases to Amazon-sold items only, thereby allowing unrestricted buys from third-party Marketplace sellers on public lists.

This is a major risk to the safety and security of anyone using a wishlist, as someone who buys you a gift from that list could now very well get access to your shipping address, and if you are having those items shipped, those fans could now know where you live.

According to notifications sent to affected users, this means that during the delivery process, a recipient's full shipping address may become visible to gift buyers through delivery updates and shipment tracking information.

Amazon advises users who share their Wish Lists publicly to mitigate risks by switching to a PO Box, Amazon Locker, or other non-residential shipping address.

The company emphasizes that Wish Lists already display only name, city, and state by default to protect privacy, but the new third-party purchase flow introduces additional exposure via carrier tracking.

Amazon Makes Wish List Policy Change That Could Expose Adult Performers Shipping Address

You're receiving this notice because you have one or more Amazon Lists that are shared with others and have a delivery address set up. We're writing to inform you about an upcoming change to Amazon Lists. Starting March 25, 2026, we will remove the option to restrict purchases from third-party sellers for list items. When this change takes effect, gift purchasers will be able to purchase items sold by third-party sellers from your lists and your delivery address will be shared with the seller for fulfillment. This change will provide gift purchasers with access to a wider selection of items when shopping from your lists.

Important note: When gifts are purchased from your shared or public lists, Amazon needs to provide your shipping address to sellers and delivery partners to fulfill these orders. During the delivery process, your address may become visible to gift purchasers through delivery updates and tracking information. To help protect your privacy, we recommend using a PO Box or non-residential address for any list you share with public audiences.

Understandably, the announcement has triggered significant backlash within creator communities.

Imagine having a fan buy you a gift from your Wishlist, and now they have your home address as a result?!

That's a huge problem, and that's why it's important that you log into your Amazon Wishlist immediately and make sure that your shipping address is not your home address. If you don't have a PO box, then you can select the Amazon shipping locker option, but keep in mind that it does allow them to know roughly where you live, or at least the city and state. Still, that's better than them having your actual home address.

Numerous performers and influencers have responded with plans to immediately delete, privatize, or overhaul their existing Wish Lists to avoid potential doxxing, harassment, or real-world safety threats.

Content creators who depend on these tools now face difficult choices: limit fan generosity or risk personal exposure.

Amazon has long offered privacy controls, such as disabling third-party address sharing in list settings or choosing more restricted list visibility.

The removal of purchase restrictions eliminates a key safeguard for vulnerable users.

Affected individuals are urged to review their Wish List settings promptly via Account & Lists > Your Wish List > Manage List, and consider alternative gifting platforms that prioritize anonymity and creator safety.

Please make sure you make these updates to your Amazon wishlist before the March 25th deadline.
