There are many disturbing revelations contained in the Epstein files. What is largely absent, however, are names from the adult entertainment industry.
For many observers, that has come as a surprise. An industry often labeled as seedy or morally suspect might have been expected to surface in connection with one of the most notorious sex trafficking scandals in modern history involving Jeffrey Epstein.
Instead, the records show that such connections are rare.
There is, however, one notable exception. Former adult film actress Sasha Grey appears repeatedly in the Justice Department’s release of documents related to Epstein. A search of the DOJ database shows her name surfaces more than 170 times in the trove of records tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The frequency has raised obvious questions, particularly because Sasha Grey recently issued a public statement saying she never met Epstein and had no knowledge that her name had been mentioned in any correspondence involving him.
Despite the frequency, there is no evidence that Sasha Grey had any direct contact with Epstein.
Instead, her name surfaces in email exchanges between Epstein and filmmaker Nicholas Jarecki.
On May 2, 2009, while Epstein was serving a jail sentence in Florida for procuring a minor for prostitution, Jarecki forwarded him a Rolling Stone profile of Grey titled “The Dirtiest Girl in the World.” The article detailed Sasha Grey’s transition from adult films into mainstream acting, including her role in The Girlfriend Experience, directed by Steven Soderbergh.
The subject line of the forwarded email read, “Vanessa’s excellent Sasha Grey RS article.” (source)
In the body of the message, Jarecki wrote: “With self-serving quote from yours truly… But enjoy it anyway. Anyone want to rep her (for real work)?”
Epstein replied: “bring her to florida.”
Jarecki responded: “Will u send plane? I will get her there tomorrow.”
Epstein later forwarded part of the exchange to another individual whose name was redacted in the DOJ release. The conversation's context remains unclear. No documentation has surfaced indicating that Sasha Grey was ever contacted, traveled to Florida, or had any interaction with Epstein.
At the time of this exchange, Sasha Grey would have been 21 years old and at the height of her career. Digital Playground's Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge was released and went on to be nominated for 17 AVN awards, of which it won 15.
This was also the year her big mainstream movie, "The Girlfriend Experience," was released. The year after, she would go on to star in 6 episodes of Entourage (season 7), which were probably shot sometime in 2009. Let's just say this was a big year for Sasha Grey.
But back to Epstein. It wasn't just one email exchange that appears in the files. Again, her name appeared 172 times. And that seems to be what caught most people's attention.
But to be clear, the DOJ files do not show any emails or communications directly between Sasha Grey and Epstein.
After her name began circulating online in connection with the files, Grey publicly addressed the issue. In a YouTube video, she stated that she had no knowledge that her name had ever appeared in correspondence involving Epstein until she was contacted by a journalist.
“I want to be very clear. I did not know Jeffrey Epstein, nor did I ever meet him. I never communicated with him. I never authorized anyone to reach out to him on my behalf. I had no knowledge that my name was ever discussed,” she said.
Sasha Grey explained that she met Jarecki in 2008 or 2009 in a professional capacity related to a potential film project. She emphasized that they were not partners and were not acting as a team.
“When I saw my name referenced by someone responsible for such heinous crimes, I was deeply upset, confused, and sick to my stomach,” she said. “The abuse and exploitation of children is one of them. What happened to each and every one of the victims is horrific. I stand with them. They deserve justice, accountability, and compassion.”
Sasha Grey added that she had no involvement in any communications between Jarecki and Epstein.

That was the first time That was the first time I'd ever heard that my name was mentioned in any communication involving Epstein. I want to be very clear. I did not know Jeffrey Epstein, nor did I ever meet him.
I never communicated with him. I never authorized anyone to reach out to him on my behalf. I had no knowledge that my name was ever discussed. I first met Nicholas Jarecki in a professional setting around 2008 or 2009 in connection with the potential film project.
We were not partners. We were not acting as a team. And any suggestion that I was connected to his personal relationships or dealings is inaccurate. When I saw my name referenced by someone responsible for such heinous actions and crimes, I was and am deeply upset, confused, and sick to my stomach. It's difficult to wholly describe what it feels like.
But I have to keep reminding myself, especially when it comes to people with immense power of the old saying, there is no honor among thieves. I can't speak to the motivations behind using my name in any of these exchanges, but it was done without my knowledge and without my consent.
I was not involved in those communications in any way, and any implication that I was connected is false. I have spent 20 years of my life in the public eye. I'm used to criticism and to people talking about me, but this is different. When it comes to my personal values, some things are inexcusable and downright unforgivable.
There are lines I will never cross or condone. The abuse and exploitation of children is one of them. what happened to each and every one of the victims is horrific i stand with them they deserve justice accountability and compassion this situation is not about me i'm only speaking to clarify the facts so there is no confusion I had no involvement.
The three million pages of DOJ documents include emails, flight logs, address books, and court filings spanning years of Epstein’s personal and professional relationships. Many names appear in the records without any allegation of wrongdoing. In numerous instances, individuals were mentioned in passing or referenced in emails without their knowledge.
In this case, Grey’s name appears because Jarecki forwarded a magazine profile and suggested she might be represented for mainstream acting opportunities. There is no evidence that Epstein financed her career, met her, or communicated with her.
But there's much more to the story, and you have to dig deep to find out what's really going on.
Jeffrey Epstein quickly realized that Nicholas Jarecki had a thing for Sasha Grey, and he would go on to use that to try to further exploit that weakness. What it was Epstein ultimately wanted from Nicholas Jarecki is unknown. But what we do know is that Epstein found a girl whom he would use and train. In an email dated December 9, 2011, this girl is talking to Epstein about a meeting she has with Sasha Grey tuy.
In the multiple emails between Epstein and this unknown girl, you'll find she always refers to Nicholas Jarecki as "the Sasha Grey guy".
Months later, she's talking to Epstein again, this time on February 26, 2012.
Next, we move forward to May 5, 2012. She's still reporting to Epstein what's going on between her and Nicholas Jarecki, and again, each time calling him the Sasha Grey guy.
This may seem uneventful until you come across the email exchange sent from December 2011. This is where you see him specifically guiding her on what to do to satisfy Jarecki.

Now this is an important email (December 6, 2011). It shows that he is having her watch other porn, not just that featuring Sasha Grey.
A few days later (December 11, 2011), they communicated again. This time, he's asking for an update, and by context, we can tell that Epstein has been telling her to watch Sasha Grey's adult movies and learn to perform as she does.
Which we can tell by her response which is: Now I also understand the connection between respect and talking, it shows being the one that controls the situation. Thank you. I will watch more Sasha Grey.
The next email actually shows where he originally instructed her to watch porn and learn from it, dated back to August of 2011.
So this means he's spent months teaching this girl lessons on how to please Jarecki. That's a lot of time and effort into this project.
Fast forward to December of 2011, and we learn that the girl, however she may be, is in Paris, but we find out that her email ends in @yahoo.de, which would make her email from Germany, and that matches with several of the email documents having German translations in them. So while we don't know who she is, we now know she's likely a young German girl living in Paris.
This is really where you see him telling her to talk naty, and vulgar to him. He's giving her very specific instructions.
For Christmas that year (December 21, 2011), we learn she'll be heading to Vienna. And now, for the first time, she clearly states that Epstein has been teaching her. But also note she's indicated at this point that she's meeting other men and is not sure how far she should go with them. So this tells us she's not a paid escort. An escort is paid to go all the way. This woman specificly state she's not sure how far she will go with them and asks Esptein for guidance.
At this point, I'm sure you finally have the answer as to why Sasha Grey is mentioned in the Epstein files. Not because she was talking to him, but because Jeffrey Epstein was training a young girl to be like Sasha Grey to manipulate a man who had a thing for her.
But let's look at the email proof to Epstein that backs that up.

With this next email, dated March 26, 2012, you can see that the young German girl and Jeffrey Epstein are in constant communication. This isn't just a casual thing where he gives her some random sex tips every now and then; this is a barrage of communication, sometimes multiple times a day.
On March 30, 2012, she's reporting back to Epstein with something interesting about Jarecki. He's a germaphobe.

In that Skype thread in one part (page 3), it doesn't redact the name. And it shows the name as "Francis Jardine-Deuss".
Does that mean the German girl's name is Francis Jardine-Deuss? I don't know. I really don't think so. But looking into that could lead us down a whole other rabbit hole. What we know for sure is that whoever she is, her job was to take care of the Sasha Grey guy and to learn to be more like Sasha Grey.
And that's why Sasha Grey's name appears so many times in association with Jeffrey Epstein, not because the former adult film star herself had anything to do with him.
