Bonnie Blue Sparks Diplomatic Outrage After Disrespecting Indonesian Flag Outside London Embassy

AROUND THE WEB

People have called British adult content creator Bonnie Blue many things. Respectful is not one of them.

The controversial starlet is back in the news and is again facing sharp backlash and diplomatic condemnation after posting a video in which she made explicit remarks about the Indonesian flag while standing outside the Embassy of Indonesia in London, weeks after her arrest and deportation from Bali after her bang bus publicity stunt.

The new flag video, which circulated widely on social media, shows Blue outside the embassy with several masked men as she mocked criticism stemming from her recent legal troubles in Indonesia. During the clip, the red and white Indonesian flag is seen pinned to the back of her skirt and trailing along the ground as she walks and poses.

“Yes I got arrested in Bali for filming,” Blue said in the video. “So it’s about time I came to the embassy so they can watch it in person.”

She went on to make graphic statements referencing the flag and Indonesian culture, remarks that quickly drew outrage online and prompted a formal response from Indonesian officials.

“People said I’ve disrespected the Bali culture. Instead, I’m going to use this to wipe the floor,” she said, escalating the provocation as the men around her cheered.

In another portion of the footage, Blue referenced the fine imposed during her deportation process, saying she was there to “pay my £8.55,” before making a sexual gesture. The fine reportedly stemmed from minor traffic violations uncovered during the investigation that led to her removal from the country.

The Government of Indonesia responded swiftly. In a statement released Dec. 23, the Indonesian Embassy in London confirmed it had filed a formal complaint with UK authorities, including the Foreign Office and local police.

“The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia has submitted a formal complaint to the relevant authorities in the United Kingdom for further handling in accordance with the laws, procedures, and authorities applicable in the UK,” the statement said.

Indonesian lawmakers also weighed in. A deputy chairman of Indonesia’s House of Representatives condemned Blue’s actions, emphasizing that the national flag is a symbol of sovereignty and national honor that must be respected regardless of location.

What could the UK realistically charge her with? Likely nothing. There seems to be no law in the United Kingdom that criminalizes the desecration of a foreign flag. Even burning or dragging the UK’s own flag is not illegal on its own. Offensive? Yes. Criminal? No.

Public reaction in Indonesia was swift and angry. Many social media users described the stunt as a deliberate provocation rather than a protest, urging platforms to remove the content and calling on authorities to take action. Others said any grievance Blue held should have been addressed through official legal channels rather than by targeting a national symbol.

Blue’s confrontation with Indonesian authorities began earlier this month when she was detained in Bali alongside more than a dozen foreign nationals for allegedly filming pornographic content in a production studio. Indonesia enforces strict anti pornography laws, with penalties that can include lengthy prison sentences and substantial fines.

Investigators later dropped the pornography charges, concluding the material was intended for private use. However, a court ruled that Blue violated visa conditions and ordered her deported. She was fined and barred from re-entering Indonesia for 10 years.

After returning to Britain, Blue appeared to downplay the seriousness of the case.

“I’m rich and have good lawyers,” she said in a separate social media post. “Did you really think I’d face jail time?”

Indonesian officials said the matter remains under review as UK authorities consider the complaint.

And while that goes on, no doubt Bonnie Blue will be at home planning her next viral stunt.
