Adult streaming giant Pornhub has released its 12th annual “Year in Review Insights” report for 2025, offering a detailed look at who watched what, where, and for how long across one of the world’s largest porn platforms.
The new data marks a historic first for the site. According to a Pornhub spokesperson, performer Alex Adams was the most searched pornstar in the world in 2025, the first time a male performer has topped the global chart. Adams ranked number one both worldwide and in the United States.

He led a field still dominated by familiar female stars. Australian performer Angela White slipped to second place, followed by Violet Myers in third. Newcomer Bonnie Blue debuted in fourth place, pushing Lana Rhoades to fifth, while another rising performer, Lily Phillips, entered the list in sixth.
On PornhubGay, Tyler Wu was the top performer, while Emma Rose led the trans rankings. Among amateur models, creator Comatozze surged to the top of searches just a year after joining the site.

Globally, Pornhub reports that “hentai” remained the most searched term for the fifth consecutive year. The animated and game-inspired category continued to anchor the top of the chart, ahead of “milf” in second place and “pinay” in third, reflecting sustained interest from viewers in the Philippines and its diaspora.
Worldwide, “anal” and “big ass” held steady in fifth and sixth place. The term “femboy” jumped 15 positions to enter the global Top 10 for the first time, aligning with a broader rise in interest in feminine-presenting men.
In the United States, the search hierarchy looked different. Pornhub says “Latina” was the top searched term in the U.S. in 2025, followed by “MILF” and “Asian.” The company reports that U.S. searches for “mature,” “lesbian,” “trans,” and “cheating” all climbed several spots year over year.
The report also highlights highly localized tastes. Relative to other states, Oregon users searched “horny grandma” most often, while Maine leaned toward “granny sex.” Iowa showed an unusual interest in “Amish,” New Jersey in “Jewish,” and West Virginia in “redneck.” Colorado users searched “native american” more than others, while Hawaii searched simply for “American.”
Other state-level standouts included “pegging” in Washington, “anal beads” in Minnesota, “jockstrap” in Vermont, “hairy armpits” in Illinois, and “puffy nipples” in Pennsylvania.

Across categories, Pornhub identifies LGBTQ+ content as the dominant trend of 2025. The company says the Lesbian category became the most viewed category worldwide, while Transgender rose to second place, reflecting a sharp increase in views compared to 2024. MILF, Anal, and Mature rounded out the global top five.
Supporting this shift, Pornhub reports significant increases in searches such as “lesbian scissoring,” “lesbian MILF” and “lesbian strapon,” as well as “trans threesome” and **“trans amateur.” Queries using “queer” and “bisexual” also climbed, with triple-digit percentage gains in some cases.
Pornhub Brand Ambassador Natassia Dreams described the change as part of a broader cultural moment.
“What’s happening in 2025 is more than just an increase in views; it’s a cultural shift,” she said in the report. She argued that the growth reflects audiences seeking performers and stories that “break old ideas about gender and sexuality” and that trans creators are “finally being seen and celebrated on our own terms.”
Femboy-related searches grew across both gay and straight audiences. The report notes that “femboy” became the top search term among PornhubGay visitors and also climbed into the global Top 10 overall, along with offshoot searches such as “cute femboy,” “sexy femboy,” and “femboy hentai.”
The gay couple account, Hunnypaint, said in the report that the rise of the tag suggests many viewers are drawn more to femininity than to strict gender identity. “For a lot of ‘straight’ guys, attraction is often more rooted in their perceived femininity of someone rather than a gender identity,” they noted.

The report identifies “Maturing MILFs” as another defining theme of 2025. The term “milf” held its position as the second-most-searched term worldwide, and related searches for “hot milf,” “cougar,” “gilf,” and “50 plus” all rose sharply. The Mature category was the fifth-most-viewed worldwide and the third-most-viewed among male visitors, with searches such as “natural beauty,” “real woman,” and “no makeup” gaining ground.
Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center contributor Dakota Ramppen said the data points to a growing appetite for “realness, age and naturalism,” arguing that the popularity of searches for older and less stylized bodies “pushes society toward body-positivity and realistic beauty standards.”
Performer Cherie DeVille, often described by fans as the “internet’s mom,” embraced the findings, saying that the numbers confirm that audiences “really do want to be tucked in by a hot, confident, mature woman.”
Roleplay content also grew strongly. Pornhub reports a 98 percent increase in the Role Play category, with specific spikes in searches for occupational and power-dynamic scenarios such as “driver,” “plumber,” “chef,” “professor,” “boss,” “cop,” “soldier,” and “employee.” Associated locations like “office sex,” “hospital,” “restaurant,” and “store” also rose.
Ramppen said the trend suggests that viewers are looking for “stories, structure and power dynamics,” describing the shift as a move toward “real life, but spicier.”
Pornhub notes that cheating and sharing themes were among the fastest-growing areas of interest. The company links some of this rise to a high-profile corporate scandal involving a concert promoter earlier this year, which dominated social media and news coverage and prompted viewers to seek related content.
Searches for “cheating,” “cheating wife,” “caught cheating,” and “sneaky cheating” all increased, several of them by more than 50 percent. Terms linked to consensual non-monogamy and sharing, including “cuckold,” “hotwife,” “swinger,s” and “wife swap,” also climbed sharply.
Sexual Wellness Center director Dr. Laurie Betito said in the report that cheating fantasies are long-standing staples, particularly office romances.
“Sex at the office involves breaking rules or crossing boundaries, and this can trigger more excitement in the brain,” she noted, adding that public scandals often spill over into erotic search behavior, especially when power dynamics are involved.
In an unexpected twist for a porn site, Pornhub reports that safe for work (SFW) content has become one of its fastest-growing sectors. The company says categories such as Podcast and Gaming saw triple-digit percentage growth, while Music also rose. Users increasingly searched explicitly for SFW material, including “SFW ASMR,” “tease SFW,” and “SFW dance.”
Sexual Wellness Center contributor Courtney Brame suggested that audiences may be gravitating toward performers outside their usual sexual context, looking for interviews, gaming streams, and other formats that “humanize these performers as somebody with hobbies and passions.”
Pornhub also highlights the growth of its vertical video offerings, particularly through its “Shorties” feature, a TikTok-style scrollable feed designed for mobile users. The Vertical Video category remains the shortest viewed by average watch time, reflecting quick-swipe behavior, but the report links its growth to broader shifts in how people consume video across platforms.
The 2025 report provides a detailed breakdown of time spent on the site by country, age group, gender, and region.
Globally, the average visit lasted 9 minutes and 33 seconds, a slight decrease from 2024. Younger adults aged 18 to 24 spent less time on average than other age groups, though the gap narrowed compared to the previous year. Older users continued to spend more time per visit, with those aged 65 and over averaging roughly two minutes more than the overall average.
By country, Japan recorded the longest average visit at 11 minutes and 2 seconds, a notable increase from the previous year. Mexico, which had led in 2024, dropped down the rankings as its average visit time fell to 9 minutes and 17 seconds. The Philippines’ average time rose by nearly two minutes, to 10 minutes and 53 seconds. The Netherlands saw one of the largest declines, slipping to an average session of 8 minutes and 54 seconds.
In the United States, the average visit was 10 minutes and 14 seconds. Alaska and Hawaii registered the longest sessions, at 11 minutes 48 seconds and 11 minutes 10 seconds, respectively, while Louisiana, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia logged the shortest average visits.
Traffic patterns followed familiar rhythms. Pornhub says usage is lowest between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. local time, then rises through the day, dips in the early evening, and peaks between 10 p.m. and midnight, with 11 p.m. identified as the busiest hour. Sunday is now the highest-traffic day, with Sunday nights around 11 p.m. drawing the largest audiences as people prepare for the workweek.
The company reports that its single highest traffic spike of 2025 occurred on Sunday, January 5, at 11 p.m. Pornhub attributes that peak to a combination of factors: the end of a major awards show, the conclusion of an NFL game between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings, and a winter storm that kept large parts of the United States at home.
Pornhub’s traffic remains highly concentrated in a handful of countries. The company says the United States again ranked first in overall traffic, followed by Mexico, which rose to second place after climbing two spots. The Philippines held third, while Brazil moved into fourth and Germany into fifth.
France dropped four positions after Pornhub suspended access there, citing government age verification requirements that the company argues are ineffective and risk exposing users’ private data. The United Kingdom, where similar debates over age verification continue, also fell in the rankings.
Taken together, Pornhub reports that the top 20 countries account for 77.5 percent of the site’s daily traffic, underscoring the platform’s global reach.
Pornhub’s demographic data shows a gradual but steady change in who uses the site. According to the report, women accounted for 38 percent of Pornhub’s traffic in 2025, up 1.5 percentage points from 2024 and significantly higher than in 2015, when women made up just 24 percent of visitors.
Female visitors spent an average of 15 seconds longer per visit than male visitors. The company notes that the growing share of women on the platform coincides with the rise of categories such as Lesbian, Transgender, Mature, and Solo Female, along with increased interest in SFW content, podcasts, and gaming.

Pornhub presents its Year in Review as a mirror of broader cultural shifts, rather than a definitive map of global sexuality. The 2025 edition underscores recurring themes in the platform’s data: the dominance of hentai and MILF searches, the persistent fascination with affairs and taboo relationships, and the rise of vertical video and mobile use.
At the same time, this year’s report stresses what it calls “diverse desires” and “real-life” fantasies, pointing to the growth of LGBTQ+ content, older performers, occupational roleplay, and SFW formats as signs that viewers are seeking both representation and variety.
As the platform continues to face regulatory disputes in countries that have imposed or proposed age verification requirements, Pornhub’s own statistics now function as both a marketing tool and a public record of how millions of users choose to engage with online adult content.
