OnlyFans Creator Filmed a Scene So Extreme She Ended Up in the Hospital — And Her Son Held the Camera

AROUND THE WEB

How far is too far when it comes to making money online? With PR stunts like Bonnie Blue’s “petting zoo” and Lily Phillips’ fake pregnancy announcement, it’s hard not to ask: where exactly is the line between clever marketing and outright manipulation in the race for online attention?

That’s the same question that came to mind when I read about Andressa Urach, a 37-year-old Brazilian adult content creator who was hospitalized after what she described as an “extreme scene” — one that, remarkably, was filmed by her 19-year-old son.

A former beauty queen and television personality, she has long been a controversial figure in Brazil’s entertainment world. She told her followers that she sought medical treatment after experiencing severe pelvic pain following a recent shoot.

“I ended up coming to the hospital. I have a lot of pelvic pain,” Urach said in a video posted from her hospital bed. “We’re going to do a CT scan to see if everything is okay and take some medication.”

She shared images appearing to show herself on intravenous fluids and later being wheeled out of the hospital. “Hahaha, just kidding, I won’t be able to do it today … literally,” she joked in a caption.

Despite the brief health scare, Andressa Urach returned to work within days, where she appeared in new videos for Privacy, a Brazilian alternative to OnlyFans. The next day, she posted a lighthearted update declaring, “Mommy is ready for more,” adding that “resting on holidays is for the weak.”

The hospitalization drew renewed attention to Urach’s unconventional collaboration with her 19-year-old son, Arthur Urach, who often films her adult content.

Yes, you read that right, her son films her content.

In a resurfaced interview on the Spanish program Programa Chupim, Arthur explained that he treats the work as a professional role rather than a family taboo. “For me, it’s really work,” he said. “Even because she’s my mother, and I’m not attracted to her.”

He admitted, however, that certain scenes had made him uncomfortable. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘that’s gross,’” he said, as his mother laughed beside him.

The revelation has prompted widespread backlash online. “The mother is a porn star, and the son … is the one filming his mother? What is the world turning into?” one social media user wrote. Others described the arrangement as “disgusting” and “shameful.”

Urach and her son first faced public criticism in 2023 when Arthur confirmed on Instagram that he was his mother’s cameraman. “Yep, I’m really badass with pictures, right?” he responded when asked if he filmed her content.

The former Miss Bumbum runner-up and reality TV personality has defended her choices, saying she feels “serene” about her career and unbothered by public judgment. Since switching from OnlyFans to Privacy, she claims to have earned more than $6 million in nine months.

Urach’s career has long been marked by controversy. Last year, she underwent surgery to split her tongue, saying the modification was meant to “confront religious people.” “I did it because of the serpent, Satan,” she told a local outlet. “I want to confront the Pharisees who condemned Jesus.”

In July, Urach’s Instagram account, with more than 4.4 million followers, was suspended. She has since launched a new page (instagram.com/aandressaurach), which she is working to rebuild.

In addition to her adult content, Urach maintains a significant presence on YouTube, where her channel boasts more than 600,000 subscribers and 100 million total views.

While opinions remain sharply divided about her career and family collaboration, Urach continues to embrace the attention. “Life is only one,” one supporter wrote under her latest post. “You have to make the most of it.”

Many question what she's done, but some say it's simply a matter of survival. The country’s deep social inequalities, combined with the explosion of affordable smartphones and high-speed mobile internet, have made adult content creation an accessible escape route for those left behind by the formal economy.

As Brazil’s economy continues to teeter between recovery and recession, platforms like OnlyFans are filling a void once occupied by stable jobs. What began as a side hustle for a few has become, for many, a lifeline in a country where ambition and necessity have blurred into one.

The platform, which allows creators to sell exclusive content directly to subscribers, has seen an explosion of Brazilian users in the past three years. According to industry analysts, Brazil now ranks among the top five countries globally for both creators and subscribers.

For many, the decision isn’t about fame or glamour; it’s survival. Brazil’s minimum wage, about 1,412 reais a month (roughly $260 USD)  can barely sustain a single person in a major city. Meanwhile, even modest creators on platforms like OnlyFans and its local rival Privacy can earn that amount in a single week.

Still, the trend has its critics. Religious leaders and conservative lawmakers have voiced concern over what they describe as the “moral collapse” of youth culture. Yet for those on the inside, the debate feels distant from the reality of rising grocery prices and stagnant wages.

As Brazil’s economy continues to teeter between recovery and recession, platforms like OnlyFans are filling a void once occupied by stable jobs. What began as a side hustle for a few has become, for many, a lifeline in a country where ambition and necessity have blurred into one.

Andressa Urach is perhaps simply making the most of those opportunities available to her.
