Throwback Thursday: Sexy Horror Edition – Vampire Strippers? Sign Me Up!

Hey Fleshbot fans! I’ve got one more sexy horror Throwback Thursday selection for you for today, actual Halloween. Throwing it back to 1996, we’re taking a look at From Dusk Till Dawn today. The film stars George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Salma Hayek, and more! It’s become a cult classic, spawning several film sequels, a TV series, and a video game. Let’s take a look! Content warnings abound, because, well, it’s got Tarantino and it’s directed by Robert Rodriguez, and I’m not judging if you watch Hocus Pocus instead!

The movie opens with brothers Seth and Richie Gecko (Clooney and Tarantino respectively) on the lam from a bank robbery. They stop at a liquor store which they manage to destroy after holding it up and they continue on their crime spree and run into Jacob Fuller (Harvey Keitel), a recently widowed pastor on vacation in an RV with his two kids (Ernest Liu and Juliette Lewis). They force Fuller to drive them over the Mexican border and to a strip club called the Titty Twister. At the club, they are looking to meet with another unsavory character called Carlos, who will allegedly set them up for the good life in Mexico away from the long arm of the law, in exchange for a mere 30 percent of their assets that they got from the bank robbery.

Sounds simple, right? Well, they neglected one little detail. Apparently, the bar is only open to truckers and bikers, but they convince the bartender to serve them anyway and that’s when the real meat of the film begins. Of course, since it’s set in a strip club there are lots of gorgeous strippers to look at, the most iconic of all being Salma Hayek’s character, the sultry Santanico Pandemonium. The girls and the other staff have one big secret though-- they are vampires--- and Seth and Richie in their infinite wisdom have just decided to start a fight with them! I’m not going to spoil the bloody battle royale for you, it’s just something you have to see with your own eyes.

Once your sugared-up ghouls and goblins are in bed, grab a few of the good candies from their hauls, pop some popcorn, and sit down to this very adult now-classic horror flick to close out your Halloween night! From Dusk Till Dawn is available for streaming (at press time) on MGM+ and for digital purchase and rental on various other streaming apps.
