Snoop Dogg’s Boss Lady Wife Opens The Players Club in LA

NAUGHTY NEWS

Shante Broadus Names Her New Strip Club After the 1998 Ice Cube Movie.

Downtown Los Angeles has a new strip club. In a city that craves novelty, sex appeal, and celebrity encounters, all while nurturing a guilty love for adult entertainment, that doesn’t distinguish it from its competition. The fact Shante Broadus, the owner of Boss Lady Entertainment and wife of rapper Snoop Dogg is the owner of the club does. Name it after friend and West Coast rap colleague Ice Cube’s wildly successful 1998 directorial debut, The Players Club, promise it will be “the newest and most exclusive” spot of its kind in the city, assure attendees that it will “redefine luxury and liberation in the city’s nightlife scene,” and pack it full of celebrities of color for the next brilliant success in the Boss Lady / Snoop Dogg portfolio.

After the couple teased fans about the club with a series of Instagram posts, including a video montage, on Monday, May 27, an opening night party was hosted by Broadus, nicknamed “The Boss Lady,” on the following Wednesday night.

A list of stars including Too $hort, Cedric the Entertainer, Tiffany Haddish, Radio 92.3 host Big Boy, Yukmouth, L.A. Miles, Nhale, and co-president of Death Row Records, Harry-O, feted the new club, according to TMZ Hip Hop. DJ Drama and DJ Sky High Baby spun the beats throughout the night. Also reported as attending was Snoop’s son, Cordell, as well as radio personality and host of #CoolShitWithCece, Cece Valencia. For the latter, it was her first visit to a strip club.

Together with STARZ TV’s P-Valley actress, Brandee Evans, who plays a Mississippi stripper, Broadus held a “sexiest dancer in the room” contest featuring the talent that Tha Doggfather had auditioned during the Memorial Day weekend. During opening night, he appeared to thoroughly enjoy himself as he posed for photos, threw money at the dancers, and shared the VIP section with longtime tour partner, Wiz Khalifia. The two men enjoyed a smoke session and were eventually joined by DJ Quick and Jason Martin, who were hyping their soon-to-be-released album, Chupacabra.

Although this is the first exotic dance club that Broadus has purchased or run, she las long been a busy professional. She became her husband’s manager in 2021 and the couple has been together for more than 25 years, marrying in 1997. Together they have three children. The Players Club, located at 800 S. Main Street in Los Angeles, is designed to be more than a place for men to ogle attractive and scantily clad women.

Decorated to blend classic Hollywood glamour with modern touches, Broadus hopes to see hers emulate popular clubs in Atlanta and throughout the South where new hip-hop acts have often been introduced. Jeezy and Future are among those whose early music has felt the love at strip clubs.

“That’s why we brought The Players Club to Los Angeles,” Broadus told Rock the Bells. “We’re trying to be the next Magic City. We couldn’t do it without the DJs. We need music for the girls to dance to and the people in the club to vibe to.”

Broadus is blazing territory for women of color owning their own strip clubs, but she’s not the first hip-hop-associated professional to do so. Candyland in Atlanta was purchased in 2023 by 2 Chainz and Akinyele has owned several, including King of Diamonds.
