She played Nomi Malone, an ambitious young woman who dreams of becoming a Las Vegas showgirl. Despite Berkley's committed performance, the film garnered notoriety for its graphic nudity and scathing reviews. While "Showgirls" flopped commercially, it remains a cult classic and a turning point in Berkley's career.
