I’m your Gay News Guy – this is the news, casual, sassy, unfiltered, and a little tipsy. Ok here’s today’s MOVIE NEW MONDAY as I see it!

The magician turned heisters franchise Now You See Me is getting a part 3, eight years later. The script has been completed and filming will start within 6 months. Jesse Eisenberg says he will return, the rest of the cast is not officially confirmed. Please, please more Dave Franco in tight magician pants!

Everyone is going Dune crazy. Not only did the sequel kill it at the box office, but the first movie is the overall #1 streamed movie on any platform this week. Everyone must have taken home their souvenir popcorn buckets for more viewing.

Kung Fu Panda 4 had a promising opening weekend, earning more than any of the other sequels in its debut showing. Talks are already underway for Kung Fu Panda 5. I didn’t know there was 2 and 3. LOL.

In other animation news, Super Mario Bros. 2 is on its way. Not being referred to as a direct sequel, this iteration could expand what we saw in the first one. It is assumed Chris Pratt and Jack Black will return.

Johnny Depp is back on screen and will be seen in the film Jeanne du Barry, releasing May 2^nd. It was a hit at Cannes but are audiences ready to welcome him back after all that silly trial drama? He plays Louis XV in a supporting role.

Michael Keaton has seen the first cut of Beetlejuice 2 and…he loves it. Praising the combo of returning and new cast, as well as the limited use of CGI to capture the feel of the first. Can’t wait!

Are we only obsessed with a funny Zac Efron? Despite Zac being in spandex undies and shirtless in his wrestling drama The Iron Claw, his Rotten Tomatoes score dipped. Now it’s back up with his new comedy (with John Cena), Ricky Stanicky.

Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut will NOT be seen in the upcoming Deadpool 3. He stated that the costume was unbearable and he couldn’t reach a proper payment agreement to go through that hassle to put the outfit back on.

Ok, so we aren’t the biggest fans of reboots and franchises that go on and on and on. BUT, we are excited about Final Destination 6. The actual title is Final Destination: Bloodlines and is not being described as a sequel, so it’s a whole reboot which might mean a whole new life to these cringey movies that we love watching.

Netflix and Disney+ don’t let us share passwords anymore. And now Max will stop password sharing in the near future. Gurrllll! Dumping cable was supposed to save us money!

The new Wonder Woman IS….not Elizabeth Debicki. A bunch of rumors were swirling that James Gunn was eyeing the actress for taking over the role of Wonder Woman now that the whole franchise is getting a reboot. He said NOPE, not even a thought.

Nicholas Cage is fighting a monster. No, not his box office career, but an underground monster in a new movie thriller. The trailer just dropped for Arcadian. Thoughts?

Disney’s live-action remakes are hit-and-miss. Well, the Bambi’s live-action reboot director just left the project. There’s been some drama at the Disney studio, and Sarah Polley’s exit just adds to that. Unclear whether the film will still go on as planned.

Cameron Diaz is in negotiations to co-star in a Jonah Hill-directed movie alongside Keanu Reeves. Not only have we been waiting for the return of Diaz to the big screen, this will match her up with Reeves whom she hasn’t starred with in a movie in over 28 years. Damn, these stars age well!

Ok, all you sassy bitches that were fighting against the Mean Girls musical movie version. Stop fighting it and just watch it. It’s now streaming on Paramount+ and we admit that we LOVE it.
