Star Wars, Narnia, Sister Act, and more Ferris Bueller!

I’m your Gay News Guy – this is the news, casual, sassy, unfiltered, and a little tipsy. Ok here’s today’s MOVIE NEW MONDAY as I see it!

The next Star Wars film will be epic if early filming info is any indication. The Mandalorian & Grogu will film in California for 92 days over the course of four months with 500 earmarked for the crew, 54 in the cast, and 3,500 background players. The film will receive one of the highest amounts of tax credits for the State, at $21.8 million. Not much is known about the film other than it will follow the story set up in the TV series The Mandalorian.

Ethan Coen’s new movie Drive-Away Dolls had a beyond dismal opening, debuting at #8 in the box office lineup. Ouch.

80s iconic film Ferris Bueller's Day Off is getting a spinoff after all these years! Titled Sam and Victor's Day Off, the film will take place the same day as the original but will focus on the two parking attendants who took Cameron’s car for a joy ride, racking up tons of miles.

Production on Sister Act 3: Kicking the Habit is going painfully slow. Producer Tyler Perry stated that they still don’t even have a script. The original film came out in 1992. Girl, get it together!

Venom 3 is almost done wrapping filming. This time, star Tom Hardy helped out with co-writing the story. Still can’t believe a sequel was even made in the first place…that movie was terrible. Even with hot Tom Hardy.

Vin Diesel is claiming that Fast & Furious 11 will indeed be the franchise's last film of the series. Don’t be sad, a spinoff series Hobbs & Shaw is in the works.

Tom Holland will star as Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic film. The film has been in development since 2021, and the script is finally being worked on. We get to see cutie Tom sing and dance!

An Anna Nicole Smith biopic is in the works. Titled Trust Me, I'm a Doctor, the film will cover the events leading up to her death, based on the book and journals of Anna’s doctor, Dr. Kapoor. Oddly, there is another Smith movie in production as well. Hurricanna will feature other characters from Anna’s life, including her therapist to be played by Holly Hunter.

Manga Naruto live-action film is in development, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' Destin Daniel Cretton writing and directing. Yaaasss!

Netflix will be home to the new Narnia movies, directed by Barbie’s Greta Gerwig. There have been a few adaptations from TV to screen, with none of them quite getting it right. Let’s hope this go around is the ticket!

After years of development, The Crow reboot with Bill Skarsgård will finally be released this summer!

There’s an epic Beatles series of films in the works. Four films will be released to tell the biopic story of the musical group. Four!

After joking about it, Ryan Gosling has confirmed that he will be performing “I’m Just Ken” from Barbie live at The Oscars! We still want to know if his Ken is anatomically correct.
