Flesh It Out: Songs In The Key Of Smut– Dungeon Soundtrack Edition

Songs for a good beating or a rough fucking, or any combo thereof!

Hey Fleshbot fans! Back in the days when I was more publicly kinky, I used to delight in seeing what divinely WTF things the owner of our local kink club used to come up with to play on the sound system in the dungeon. Everything from 70s singer-songwriter mix to 80s hair metal and everything in between would show up and while that man has sadly passed away, I still love dungeon music.

Here’s a few of my kinky favorites to help bulk up your own playlist:

“Venus in Furs” by The Velvet Underground is based on the erotic novel of the same title by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, published in 1870 and references the male submissive of the story, called Severin. It speaks of a submissive’s almost spiritual devotion to their dominant. I think the instrumentation on this piece is really interesting.

“Pretty Tied Up” by Guns n’ Roses is about, well, what it says on the tin -- a girl who apparently really loves some complex rope bondage and even inversions! Its subtitle is “The Perils of Rock n Roll Decadence” and there has to be a story about that somewhere.

Yes, Guns n’ Roses made this list twice and now you know approximately how old I am and that my psychosexual development really had some “interesting” influences. Tipper Gore warned us about this, y’all, yet here I am telling you I’m a freak partly due to music. The second GnR song I’m highlighting today is a track from the now-iconic Appetite for Destruction. “Anything Goes” which includes frank sexual references that the singer is pretty much flagging orange left. Even I don’t flag orange left, but I could see 1980s Axl Rose doing so, for sure.

“Pain” by Three Days Grace has a hell of a great chorus for administering (or receiving) strokes, blows, or anything else in the way of stuff you do in dungeon. It also strikes a chord in my little masochistic heart for sure and probably lots of other people who can relate to the need to release and process life’s bullshit through consensually getting the snot beaten out of them...

“Control” by Puddle of Mudd is another one that appeals to the savage masochist in me. It’s all grindy and sexual musically from the start and the lyrics are quite frank about a hell of a power exchange thing going on. Way back when I attended an event known for its extensive kinky pony show I watched an absolutely smoldering scene set to this song. It was depicting the process of “breaking” a human pony and holy shit was it hot AF. Normally pony play is not my kink and I just enjoy the spectacle, but that scene had me wanting to do some wild shit for sugar cubes…..

“Fetish (XXX)” by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts is just a dirty masterpiece. Jett sings about all the hot kink things she likes to do, and this is an essential track for people who have only heard “I Love Rock And Roll” which is a crowd-pleasing banger, but doesn’t include the lyrics “relax while I pound your ass” or actual whips and floggers making sound effects!
