This Kitty Breaks Stereotypes and Inspires Orgasms.
The first time I watched BADKITTYYY in action was in January of this year in a girl-girl-boy scene for Brazzers. Although her long, pointed fingernails at the time were just short of terrifying, everything else about her was deeply desirable and intensely fuckable. After she sent a polite message asking me to get her name right in my review, I became obsessed with the idea of making her acquaintance even if only via Zoom. After all, cute thicc black porn chicks with lots of tattoos and a ferocious bisexual appetite are rare and wonderful sights.
My interviews never start with questions about sex or porn because I’m weird that way. Instead, a casually dressed BADKITTYYY and I sat on opposite sides of the internet, smoked a bit of legal weed, and talked about our dogs. One of mine was barking, so the topic was foremost in my mind. BADKITTYYY’s 19-year-old dachshund named Marley lives with her parents and lives in denial over the fact he is a dog. “He’d be very upset if you changed his reality,” she assured me.
Having bonded over our love of dogs, it wasn’t long before we moved on to cats. After all, her very stage name speaks of a love for felines. Or pussy. Or both. Our experiences with these furry four-legged love machines have included cats who did not realize they were cats. Whether they were dogs in cat bodies or just particularly loyal cats is a mystery that will never be solved. That they are, as BADKITTYYY summed up, “the best,” is irrefutable. My puppycat was a tuxedo cat. BADKITTYYY’s was half Main Coon and half tuxedo. “It was a circus,” she explained. “Those personalities together were too funny.”
Talking about cats naturally led us to mention drag queens, which brought us to RuPaul’s Drag Race. I couldn’t disagree with her when she observed that “those girls know what’s up.”
“In a past life,” she assured me, “I was a drag queen.”
At last! The conversation had turned toward work and all thanks to a tall, black drag queen with big hair, a bigger sense of style, and, as a result, an even bigger bank balance.
“I started on Chaturbate in late 2017. I was that bad kid that was always watching porn when I shouldn’t be. I’m 30 and so we had unfettered access to the internet in the early 2000s. I remember getting in trouble for Googling ‘hot boys kissing’ because I’d hacked my grandma’s AOL account.”
As someone who got her online jollies thanks to Usenet in the early 1990s, the idea of ‘Googling’ anything, let alone such a daring and adorable key phrase, makes me smile. That it was done through an AOL account, regardless of whose it was, makes the whole story perfect in my mind. I will treasure it always.
“I was watching porn and gore. Porn and gore. My poor little smooth brain. No wonder I’m like this! I was always, like, ‘I’m going to do that. I’m going to do this. I’m going to do porn. I’m going to do it.’”
Whatever your opinion of camgirls and porn stars may be, you can’t deny BADKITTYYY’s sense of purpose and determination to fulfill said purpose. Soon she had the chance.
“I remember that my parents had built an apartment on the garage of our family home for me. That was the opportunity. I’m alone enough. I can do it. But the stairs up to the apartment were at the base of the laundry room and there was no door at the time at the laundry room. So, I couldn’t have sounds.”
Displaying a work ethic that would challenge any CEO, she dove further into her erotic resume.
“I’d cam super late at night while working my 9 – 5. I got hit up by some performers to come out to LA and shoot some content. It was early 2018 and I think OnlyFans was just coming to people’s attention.”
After reflecting for a moment, BADKITTYYY chuckled at a fond thought. “It’s crazy because now I’m friends with the people that I was watching in high school when I shouldn’t have been. I was just a badass kid that saw an opportunity and took it. It just worked out.”
In addition to camming through OnlyFans, BADKITTYYY began to create her own content. The two contributed to her gaining more exposure and, ultimately, picking up more gigs.
“In 2020, a mainstream company hit me up and I booked my first mainstream scene. It was wild because nobody really knew who I was. I made enough noise then that MindGeek reached out and wanted to work with me. I was, like, ‘nice.’”
Not destined for boring scenes, BADKITTYYY’s first with Reality Kings was kinky even by kinky standards. “It was a balloon scene with Charles Dera. It’s funny because I was, like, ‘balloons? That’s weird.’ I looked up balloon fetish and was like, whoa! This is a thing!” In addition to liking balloons, she also likes Dera, who was injured in a motorcycle accident in 2022 but she assured is doing well now.
“I’ve worked for Brazzers the most. I’ve worked for Brazzers three times. I’ve done Swallowed twice. I don’t get booked a lot, but I’m pretty proud of what I get booked for.”
And here, if you will, is the meat of the interview and yet another area that BADKITTYYY and I and so many other women have in common. We don’t fit the porn or conventional beauty mold.
“I say I’ve got the big three.” she explained. “I’m fat, black, and tattooed.” She acknowledges that she might be wrong about her conclusions and that the possibility isn’t something you want to “lead with” during an interview. But it also doesn’t make her wrong.”
BADKITTYYY prides herself not only on her excellent, if limited, work for big studios, but on her ability to prove that she’s worth their time and investment. “Look at the results, friend,” she recommends. According to BADKITTTY, she has the analytics to back up her claims of popularity and has, in fact, presented them to some of the powers that be. The response? “They were, like, ‘All right, yeah, we’ll be in touch.”
“People are asking for me, but my hands are tied. I would love to be booked more than once a year. That would be awesome, but it is what it is. I do a lot of solo stuff. I don’t live in the hub of porn. I don’t live in L.A. or Vegas, but I take trips and shoot with friends or new people. Or I try something new and then take that home and try to piece the content out throughout the year.”
Sex workers who violate the cliché of what a sex worker looks like, especially those who are more lush, non-white, highly decorated with piercing or tattoos, older, or somehow short of “perfect,” have to plan their approach to employment differently. As BADKITTYYY aptly explained:
“It’s better for me to go where I’m appreciated. I don’t try to be ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if you had me?’ No, ‘this is what you’re missing out on,’ is how I like to roll. I just keep doing my own thing and outperforming myself. I play a different game. People like me; we play a different game from the rest of the industry, so it’s definitely a different experience.”
My exposure to BBW porn goes back to the days when it appeared on VHS tape and let me say, things are so much better than they used to be. I salute the pioneers of the genre but feel that the performers of today tend to be more self-confident, better dressed, beautiful beyond any fetish aspect, and incredibly sexy to watch fellate, fornicate, eat pussy, wield a strap-on, or generally do something involving solo or partnered nakedness. You know, the kind of thing you don’t tell your priest about during confession because, well, that’s its own kind of porn scene.
The same goes for content featuring people of color, especially black performers and performers who have body modifications such as multiple piercings or large tattoos. Because of this, it’s my belief that women of color will be the force that makes good things happen in these traditionally underrepresented and often misunderstood genres.
“I agree! When I was younger, it was kinda Pinky’s heyday. She was fuller-figured. She’s petite, but especially now, she’s been killing it for the last 15 or 20 years! And that’s one thing; as women, our bodies change as we get older. She’s more of a BBW now and I thought, ‘Wow! That’s so fantastic. Pinky’s on our side now.’ Somebody once tried to insult me by saying, “Don’t get like Pinky,’ and I was, like, ‘Why wouldn’t I want to be like Pinky? She’s still here after 15 – 20 years. Do you know how much turnover happened in that time? She owns her own brand. All these great things! I totally think the BBW come-up is going to be through black women and through women of color.”
The first order of business may be figuring out what qualifies a woman as a BBW. I’ve seen some BBWs who resembled Marilyn Monroe a lot more than Mama Cass.
“When I started this business, I wasn’t this size. I won AVN BBW of the year last year, 2022, and people were like, ‘You’re not a BBW. You’re not a BBW.’ I think it’s a nuanced category. It’s the same with the word ‘thicc.’ I think the word ‘thicc’ has been misused. If you’re over a size eight, then you’re ‘thicc.’ The average American woman is a size 14! When I think of BBW, I think of size 22 and up. When I think SSBBW, it’s what people consider a BBW. It’s very subjective.”
Another thing about porn that is arguably subjective is how long is too long when it comes to porn fingernails. I confess that I shared my horror of her Brazzers car wash scene fingernails in my review, which she read to her mother, and this brought about a change of mind on the brown-skinned beauty’s part.
“They were getting in the way. They were holding me back. I love a good fist, but you can’t do it with the claws. You can pick up cheese or hors d’oeuvres. You can pick up hot things. But at what cost? My life had to change. There were too many cons, so they had to be gone.”
Who says that porn critics can’t change the world? If that can happen then surely an intelligent, ambitious, and talented thicc, black, tattooed woman who does porn can do even more.
“What I want to leave as a legacy is that black porn sells and it’s important. There needs to be more dialogue outside of ‘Why don’t you just make a black studio yourself? Why don’t you do this?’ Because if we look at the history of black studios, we know where they went. We know what happened. The scene that you reviewed? “Squirting at the Carwash?” That was my first black scene in mainstream and I’m so proud of that. I feel like that’s such an important thing that happened in my career. Put more black women in mainstream porn and more BBWs. That’s what I want to do, and I want to work with, and I want to leave behind.”
