It was 24 years ago that Georgina Beyer changed the history of the world. The former sex worker and Indigenous Maori became the first transgender hopeful to become a lawmaker. In 2003 she helped decriminalize sex work in New Zealand and in 2004 she helped legalize same-sex civil unions. The 65-year-old passed while in hospice last Monday. Click here.

If you haven’t struggled to get through a day, a week, or even longer at work due to intense menstrual pain then you can consider your life well-lived. Not everyone is so lucky, however, and for some, the monthly cycle comes with considerable pain and suffering.
