The XCritic Interview: Zaawaadi

There have been more than a few memorable starts to the careers of the most infamous porn stars. Some performers began in the world of mainstream sitcoms like Maitland Ward. Others were hosts of television shows on E! way before anyone even knew who, or what a Kardashian was. Christy Mack, Janine, Lisa Ann, they are all industry legends, women who set their own trends and answered to only one power that be, themselves. I know that I am going to get a lot of flack for what I am about to say, but I welcome the debate and conversation, I do not think any performer has started their XXX career the way that Zaawaadi has. This Kenyan born beauty’s first film, was actually a showcase from a massive company and an even more massive director. Part documentary, part porn fantasy and all Zaawaadi. You just do not see rookies get this kind of opportunity, and it is even rarer to see them succeed in this type of situation but that is exactly what Zaawaadi did and what made me want to find out all I could about the women who made industry legend Rocco Siffredi jump up and down upon meeting her, then gave him the urge to showcase her to the world. It was a gamble that paid of in the most massive way and we are all glad that he did. About a month ago, I finally got to sit down with this starlet and review her closing scene in All Black Beauties 2, from All Black X and what I saw was a woman who I think was always destined to find her way into this business, for what state of grandeur, we have yet to gaze that far into the crystal ball. Don Juan: Madam, first off, thank you for taking time out of your schedule to answer questions for the XCritic faithful. I would love to begin by asking you, how did you find your way into the world of adult entertainment? 

Zaawaadi: In 2016 I was starting just for fun doing photo modeling for portraits, fashion, artistic nudes, besides my work in a hospital as a nurse. I was dissatisfied with my job, because working as a nurse in Germany is rather hard, not well paid, with a bad reputation and lack of staff. I needed something to make me feel better with good vibes. So, I started with erotic shoots and webcamming. In 2018, my husband and I watched a porn scene at home with Riley Nixon & Steve Holmes. Riley with her shaved head, wearing a hot red latex dress... Wow! So, I decided to shave my head and my husband was amazed, he told me I would look like Grace Jones.

In October 2018, we visited Venus Berlin for two days for the first time ever. My intention was to find out more about the erotic market in Germany, and of course, I hoped that maybe someone would ask me to take some pictures for a magazine .....girls dream, you know! 

With sunny weather & a good mood, I entered the market halls, looked around and a lot of people asked me for permission to take a picture with me. I felt good with my short hair, in a short black leather dress without panties.

I saw a lot of very sexy women and also visited the female strip area... no guys permitted! ☺️

We bought some funny dildo stuff, some nice heels, sexy corsage, things like that. It was huge fun to watch the girls strip with all of these cam shows all around us. It was a big party mood everywhere we looked. In the “kinky” area, I fell in love with the latex stuff and got flashed from the famous Fetish Medusa… and was turned to stone ... I was wet all the time. A famous shibari artist from France, Fred Kyrel, asked me to be a model for his next stage performance on one of the various show stages at the market.

So of course, my husband and I decided to go back in 2019 to Venus Berlin, this time for every day of the show.

At Venus Berlin 2019, I got the chance to represent myself all the days of the show in the webcam model area. Those were amazing days full of new impressions & great contacts. I met one of my favorite stars in real life, Luna Corazon, and I were so happy to meet & watch amazing people like the beautiful and naughty Frida Sante, creamy Kinuski, excessively hot Stacy Bloom, beautiful Italian Sophie Diamond, BBW incredible Busty Cookie, amazing German MILF Sandy and the smart German/Italian Gino Gemelli. I got to meet several producers like Dan Leal, Tim Grenzwert, Girlsemotions, and some German studios like Beate Uhse, asked me for a casting for the future and I had a lot of fun when we visited two of the B2B parties in some fancy Berlin Clubs, then again on the stage with fashion shibari and other various live shows with other girls, all for the fans enjoyment.

Don Juan: Oh my God! Now that is one of the coolest stories of how someone got into this industry. I love it! I have heard so much about Venus Berlin. I have heard that it is one of the best adult entertainment and lifestyle conventions in the world. I love that you attended this convention even before you became a porn star. I would love to hear more about this convention to tell the American fans. This year, I have been trying to shed a light on the European part of the industry and all its wonders for American fans because I do not think they know of such things. 

Zaawaadi: Well, I told you about some of my impressions during the last Venus Berlin. Staying there for each day in 2019 created a huge boost with my career as an adult star. I had big dreams for the Venus 2020 & 2021, which makes it so hard that everything is canceled because of COVID-19. I think that it is the best Adult Entertainment Market in Europe, but I don’t know about other conventions, like the show in Barcelona for example. Nevertheless, there were some points in Berlin I would like to focus on with this question. I had a lot of fun and there were many different exhibitors, B2B talk without problems, good parties at night, well-working security concept with polite guards. The information system & time scheduling was good. I loved the very special kinky area! Handicap people were welcomed with open hearts. There was such good coffee, they had clean toilets and so many snacks everywhere. There was a huge lack of internet connectivity for webcam live streaming, which is a typical German problem here. They have talked for years about fixing it for the future but they have not done that yet.

Now, there is one main point I think that Venus Berlin should change their position on in the future, it is that the LGBT community is still excluded from the show in many ways!

This was really strange for me to discover. At this point, I get the feeling like I was visiting something other than an erotic market. This is something I have to consider in the future.

It seems to be still a problem in the European adult market to not include LGTB, I guess.

Ok! I saw the amazing Kim Wagner with some of her slaves, but where was hot, beautiful Kimber Lee for example?

Why isn’t it possible in Berlin to meet stars & adult industry influencers like Natalie Mars, Lance Hart, Aubrey Kate & Max Konnor at the same time in common with non-LGBT performers? There is only one adult industry and one passion for all kinds of colors & sexual preferences, this is what I believe! I hope you agree with me

Don Juan: I did not know that the European market had such things occur. I am one-hundred percent with Zaawaadi. There should never be an exclusion of any adult performer at anything that has to do with our industry. We are all human beings, that is how I see things. I really appreciate you speaking on such a subject, I really do. Zaawaadi, maybe this is why you had the first year in the industry that you did. I see such devotion in all you do. Please, tell us what it has meant to you to win an XBIZ Award for Best Sex Scene in your first year? I can not tell you how rare it is for a new starlet to win such an award. It has not been done but a handful of times in the history of this business. 

Zaawaadi: I still feel overwhelmed with the whole thing, I  remember that day I came back home from work and my husband informed me that the movie, My Name Is Zaawaadi was nominated and that I had also been nominated for best new starlet. First, I thought he was fooling around with me but it wasn't April first. Then winning an XBIZ Award, it made me feel like I am exploding out of things, I just can't explain it in words. I still need to digest everything about the year 2020. I have to give thanks to my agency Brillibabes @brillbabesxxx & Nikki Models @AgencyNikkis and all the different producers like Rocco Siffredi, Pierre Woodman, 21Naturals, Fakehub Studios for believing in me. Don Juan: I can only imagine what that felt like and I understand not being able to talk about such things.

I certainly hope that we get to see you here in America once the world has COVID-19 a little more under control. I think you would take the American market by storm, just like Angela White did a few years ago.

I can imagine that this has been a thought that has crossed your mind as well? 

Zaawaadi: Working in America with some of the world's best studios is my big dream!

The chance to meet my American fans one day in real life, that would be so great! Then, to be able to work with some of those amazing American performers.

People like Natalie Mars, I adore her so much! Demi Sutra, Ana Foxxx, Aubrey Kate, Angela White! She is so amazing! She would just get my all! Adriana Chechik, she is my squirting idol!  Maitland Ward, she is the most real of women, and there are so many others. 

Don Juan: I think that is one hell of a goal and list. I hope that we get a chance to see you work with every single one of those ladies. I looked upon your work within the adult industry, I saw that with more than a few films, that you have been included in a scene with Tiffany Tatum. You both always seem to have such chemistry on set. I would love to hear about your relationship with Tiffany if you do not mind sharing. Are you both close friends? Or perhaps more? I sense a massive connection there Zaawaadi. 

Zaawaadi: Since the first time I met Tiffany Tatum was at Venus Berlin in 2019. It was there that I fell in love with her art and her beauty. She gave me so much good advice and I feel so comfortable at her side. I told you already, she connected me with Rocco. The time with her when we made My Name is Zaawaadi, working with her was so amazing and I hope to meet her again. She is without any doubt an awesome performer.

Don Juan: What you both have created together, it is nothing short of epic. I would now love to shift gears so that you can tell us about your latest film from Mile High Media and All Black X. What was it like working with Yves Morgan again? You both worked with each other in My Name is Zaawaadi as well, correct?

Zaawaadi: Yes, that is right. I was so happy to work with him again! Yves Morgan is a very handsome guy, we fit perfectly together & I like working with him a lot. He always does me very good! It’s important for the success of a movie to have a good chemistry when having sex in front of a camera. I’m looking forward to working with more BBC and yes before you ask,  I love working with them! Lol.

Don Juan: OK, second part to this question madam, your chemistry with Asia Rae was amazing. What was it like working with a new performer, now that you are now a two-year veteran in the industry? Were you a bit more nervous compared to other shoots you have had in the past? You two just seemed to have so much fun with each other in this scene. You are such a passionate woman in all that you do Zaawaadi. 

Zaawaadi: Asia Rae, she is pure passion without any taboo. She has this body you just have to touch. I am so happy that I had the chance to work with her. I still remember meeting her for the very first time, the night before at the Brillibabes Model house in Budapest. We talked, laughed, gossiped about the “dicks” and we even planned to do some content together. This was fun and neither one of us had the clue that we would be working together the following day until we arrived at the location. The funny thing is, we used the same taxi, talked about the fact that we were shooting a BGG threesome, and still didn’t know we were the girls in the scene together.

It also means that personal sexual understanding could be the feeling toward another person, physically or emotionally. Or even the things to do with what he/she likes, here I mean the fetish stuff for example. High heels, good makeup, sexy lingerie/clothes, body parts, boobs, ass, six-pack, a nice cock, no matter if it is big or small, long Legs, hairy pussy or armpits. It is being tall, being, short or even having balding hair or the BDSM things. I would assume that anything that makes you horny, that is sexuality.

Or, it could be the sexual feelings I have towards myself. Mentally or hormonal. It could be how sexy I feel or see myself when I am standing in front of a mirror. It is how horny I get when my sexual partner touches different parts of my body. On the other side, it is which days of the month I’m permanently horny just depends on my Menstrual cycle too. Even by men, many people ignore this, I think.

It’s a rather complicated theme, sexuality, and everybody understands things in different ways. Don Juan: I have heard that you are a woman who loves BDSM and I am glad you brought up the subject.  I would also love to ask, being that you are such a passionate performer, what does the word “fetish” mean to you?

Zaawaadi: Yes, I love soft BDSM and I regularly enjoy sex with some fetish stuff, but nothing that is beyond my limits.  I love being submissive, being submissive to a woman is so sexy and sensual. I would also love to hear more about being a nurse and what led you to chase that profession. If so, I can see why you are such a passionate performer. It is such an amazing coincidence that so many performers, in their previous line of work, were health care workers. I think it is because both healthcare and porn require a person who loves other human beings to be successful at what they do. What do you think? 

Zaawaadi: Well, your question is very touching to me. I was born and grew up in the countryside in Kenya and I was 21 years old, that is when I moved to Germany. That was in 2009. I remember that it was cold and snowing when I first arrived at the airport. I was freezing like I had never seen before, it was like coming to another world. The first time in Germany wasn’t so easy for me. I moved from a lower developed country to a higher developed country with a totally different culture & people’s mentality. I left my family and friends thousands of miles behind me. I tried to catch up with the German fast lifestyle. I tried to adapt to the culture and learn the language. All of that opened up my mind so much. I was really Catholic, conservative, and socialized. I still believed that sex is only fulfilled when you got married and that’s the end of the adventures & self-empowerment as a woman. 

A few years later, when I had reached a better German language level, I joined a nursing school in a hospital. A course that took three years. Then, in 2015 I was then qualified as a professional nurse. Despite the difficult situation in German hospitals for many years, like I had told you about earlier, I loved to care for people and doing the right and good thing whenever I can. But then I surrendered, I changed from a very small hospital to a big one and it was like working at a factory. The only thing that counted to the big hospitals was time efficiency and care units. You can never get anything done, because of the lack of staff. The patient is not a machine, and neither was I for that matter. Now, I’m working in an ambulant care service, no full-time job, it isn't much easier, but I do not feel trapped anymore.

Don Juan: My goodness, what an amazing story. Thank you for sharing something so intimate and deep with us. For the last few questions, I would love to ask some for the fans, they always like to know, who is the porn star that you look forward to working with most that you have not already? Who is Zaawaadi’s fantasy scene partner? I can imagine that during XBIZ Europe, you had more than a few performers catch your eye? 

Zaawaadi: This is a really good question! The fans are so enthusiastic. I like it a lot to get proposals & fantasies from fans. I want to have sex for both our confidence. Many productions are pending or they were canceled by lockdowns. My greatest desires are to live in America,  I told you that already! I hope so badly that it will be possible in the future! Traveling to Barcelona would be great, it is such a beautiful city. Maybe we have to live with restrictions for a longer period, possible mutations are more dangerous and vaccinations will need to be refreshed regularly, but I pray for better days to come. We want to take a holiday in Romania and go to the Black Sea again, visit our friends there. We had to cancel that trip last year as well. Having lazy days in the sun on the beach, which includes some shopping! Shopping in Bucharest of course, those fancy clothes you will never find in a northern German shop. I miss a good party and music concerts. I want to see one so badly. We miss getting to go out to a good Restaurant! Eating, meeting friends, having a good time. That is it.
