[Editor's note: hey - sometimes you just want things to be quick and easy, that's okay!]
Ingredients:
- Ground beef
- Sausage (I used hot)
- Two cans of diced tomatoes
- One can of tomato sauce
- One can of tomato paste
- Chili powder
- Cumin
- Red pepper flakes
- Jalapenos
- Brown sugar
- 2 cans small red beans (faster) or dried beans soaked overnight and then boiled
- Whole onion (chopped)
- 6 bay leaves
Directions:
- Brown meat and set aside
- Combine diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste
- Add chili powder, cumin, red pepper flakes, jalapenos, and brown sugar (all to taste) and let cook.
- (Optional) you can blend the sauce to make smooth
- Add remaining ingredients and meat
- Simmer for 30 mins to an hour.
