XCritic Interview: Alex Coal

When I first ran into Alex Coal, I was at the AVNs in Las Vegas. We were chilling on the red carpet, and immediately clicked. We quickly started kvetching, mostly about outfits, cool things we saw, as well as fun things to do outside of the awards ceremony. 

Though we were simply talking like regular Joes, there was something absolutely spectacular about Alex. She wasn't just strikingly pretty; she had a certain magnetism and warmth that just made her irresistible! She carried herself so well, and at the same time, walked that fine line between cute as a button and sexy. 

Real talk, this girl is as popular with porn stars as she is with fans. She's just that awesome. When I got the opportunity to get an interview, I jumped at it. I knew I wanted to learn more about her! Alex and her PR manager, Erika, were more than happy to oblige. Here's what happened.

Ossiana Tepfenhart: It's known that you discovered your love of sex through manga and hentai. Was there any scene or genre that really made you fall in love with the field?

Alex Coal: I think I've always been in love with sex and pleasure. I've always wanted to be the best at it, to be able to be the perfect sex partner. I fell in love with porn and the adult field as soon as I actually experienced it and was welcomed into it. 

 As the "it girl" of porn, what were some of your favorite companies to work with? What about your favorite scenes?

Thank you, that's kind of you. I love working with everyone, if I had to name a few favorites I'd have to say that's a very hard choice. But I've had beautiful experiences with (in no particular order) New Sensations, Pure Taboo, Reality Kings, Mofos, Team Skeet, Brazzers, Naughty America, HardX, and many more. Some of my favorite scenes have been my first scene with Hussie Pass working with JMac! That was incredible. I also loved my Pure Taboo scene with Logan Pierce! What was the wildest off-camera moment you experienced in porn so far?

I think the wildest moments off camera are the ones that happen because everyone's trying their best to get a great shot. Then, we walked along the highway to get back to civilization and people honked as they drove by.

It's true. Everyone is hot here! You know what isn't hot though? Misunderstandings. What's something you don't feel most people understand about porn? What is a myth about sex you want to dispel?

I don't think people understand how difficult it can actually be to work in this industry. We travel, we have painful sex in awkward positions so that the camera can see what it needs to see, and we navigate a lot of landmines in the forms of health risks, emotional stability, and business and tax law. I love this industry and I love my work. But, I think people think I just show up and spread my legs and orgasm, when a lot more goes into producing entertaining movies.

What are your favorite kinks to perform on camera? Off camera?

What was your first taping like? Was it scary, sexy, fun...?

How do you prep for a taping? Do you have a specific routine you do?

Think about this a lot before you make the leap into porn. Talk to performers, agents, and directors. Ask questions. Have a 5-year plan. Have a 10-year plan. Invest your income. Don't do anything you're not comfortable with. Keep in mind that no one ever owes you a booking. And good luck!
