XCritic Interview: Liv Revamped

Liv Revamped is the kind of adult film star who makes everyone’s jaw drop. She’s got that beautifully wild, untamed hair that you just want to run your fingers through. She’s got that gorgeous sun-kissed skin tone that makes other models turn green with envy. She’s got a wicked pair of boobs and a behind that just won’t quit.

Really, how can you not love her?!

What’s even more awesome about Liv is her personality and taste in music. As a person who is heavily involved in the underground rave scene, I truly believe that ravers are some of the most beautiful people you’ll ever meet. So, when I found out that adult film star Liv Revamped is a huge EDM fan, I automatically knew that I had to meet the lady behind the porn.

Thankfully, I was able to get the chance to talk to her. Here’s what she had to say about life and love.

Ossiana Tepfenhart: Liv, you're an EDM fan who has been killing it on Instagram, your own site, as well as on major porn labels. What's it like to be the hottest festival goer out there?

Liv Revamped:  I don’t know considering I don’t necessarily consider myself the hardest festival goers out there. Haha, but I just enjoyed the fun and carefree atmosphere as well as all the love that everyone shares for one another as well as the music.

 I’ll admit, I took a quick look at your Twitter before I went in on the interview. I see you are prepping to go to EDC, and holy shit, that’s awesome! Who are your favorite artists?

I don’t have many artists that I am a huge fan of, but I am a huge fan of the group yellow claw. They are more trap / EDM, but that’s why I love their music so much. Growing up, I used to go to a lot of metal festivals, so going to a yellow claw event it kind of brings back memories of going hard-core.

What's a rave story you want to share with fans? Do you ever get recognized while you're raving? 

I am what others would consider a “rave mom” when I go to raves. One time while walking to one of the main stages at EDC, I saw a girl who had been rolling for the first time overheating and feeling sick. The guy she was with was also young and new to rolling and had no idea how to help his friend. I wound up intervening, helping this girl drink water and made her feel better. Then once she was feeling up to it, I led them to a rest area “oasis” and didn’t leave their side until I knew they would be okay.

That’s incredibly kind of you! What’s interesting about you is that you make a point of insisting on respect across the board, including when it comes to business policies. Not only are you incredibly hot, but you're also known for being very well-spoken. Recently, you pointed out that Twitter might be fumbling over its words. You pointed out that the company had no problem protecting a fictional account of a sex worker paid by Netflix, but regularly makes life difficult for sex workers. Do you feel like Twitter's reaction is an outcome of the stigma around sex? How can people help de-stigmatize sex work?

I believe it’s a symptom of mainstream using sex work for entertainment purposes while still dehumanizing real sex workers and treating our work as dirty. If real sex workers were portrayed in a positive light instead of a stereotypical one, people outside of the industry would have a better understanding of who we are and what we do for work.

I absolutely agree. What are your favorite scenes to shoot? Do you have any kinks you really like to flaunt?

My favorite type of scenes to shoot are gonzo. There are no scripts, no crazy set up, just hardcore fun and great sex. I’ve always enjoyed being watched, so working on large production sets with many people around working and watching me is an absolute dream come true.

 Were there any scenes you shot that really made you go, "Wow, that was intense!"?

My first DP for Legal Porno was very intense, but because I was working with such professional men as well as a great production crew, the scene wound up being one of the best scenes I ever had the pleasure of shooting.

What are some upcoming projects fans can look forward to?

I’m still in the process of creating a new genre of porn that really focuses on a woman’s inner beauty and true identity rather than her outer appearance, as well as battling on-going stereotypes and prejudice that ethnic and mixed performers like myself still have to endure.

That sounds pretty empowering! Are there any people who you really want to work with? What kind of scenes would you want to do with them?

My dream is to get my debut with Brazzers. I’ve been in the industry for almost eight years at this point, and I have yet to shoot with many prominent companies. I do believe that some politics are in the way of me making my debut, but I believe in due time when this industry has finally reached the level that it is capable of, then my debut will be had. And it will be glorious!

What are your favorite outfits to wear?

I love being able to wear sexy lingerie! I’ve been a teen girl, stepdaughter, stepsister, etc., so many times that it’s nice to just be the sexy grown woman that I really am.

I noticed that you like horror anime. Who's your favorite character? Would you cosplay them?

I love Lucy from Elfen Lied, but if I could cosplay a horror anime character, I’d rather be Hell Girl. Her look is so beautiful and haunting. Maybe in time, I’ll create a porn parody with a similar character.

Prior to adult films, what did you do for a living? If you didn't do porn right now, what kind of job would you want to work?

My first job was at Taco Bell. During my brief break from porn, I was a barista at Starbucks. If I had continued going to school when I was younger, I’d probably be an attorney studying criminal law.

Pursuing education is a pretty epic goal if you ask me. You're a strong proponent of sex education, and rightfully so! What do you think are the most important things people should learn in order to have a healthy sex life?

Firstly, healthy sex starts with proper sexual education and self-care. Young boys and girls first need to understand their own bodies before trying to learn someone else’s.

Are you more into girls or guys?

It's evenly 50/50. I’m truly bisexual.

 Though you’re bisexual, the camera doesn’t lie. You love giving head, girl, and you look awesome doing it. What's your favorite tip for pleasing men?

Communication. It goes for men and women. I love when a guy tells me what makes him tick, and I also love listening to his moaning when I’m doing what he likes.

I know you were studying to become an attorney. What was the wildest thing you learned while at school?

Honestly nothing. College wasn’t an exciting time for me, unfortunately. I was always an overachiever in school, that when I finally got to college, my drive was gone. That’s because I knew I was pursuing a career that wasn’t going to make me happy.

 What's a myth about porn that you feel needs to be dispelled? Tell me (and the world) what everyone should know.

I detest the idea that pornstars are filthy, diseased whores. Who seriously came up with that crap? Sex workers are the absolute cleanest people I’ve ever had the privilege of fucking. Why would I want to fuck any other kind of human?

 What's your all-time favorite book?

The Secret Garden. The story is short, pure, and beautiful. Our lives are only seconds compared to this vast universe. With the time we are given, we should always make the best of it.

I love that one! It’s such a beautiful book. I know that you're a very outspoken supporter of cannabis legalization. Do you have a favorite strain you like to smoke, maybe while reading?

If I had to choose, I prefer Indica strains. But are usually smoke hybrid‘s that are Indica dominant. I like to smoke and relax, and it keeps me focused.

Do you have any cannabis companies that you really want to see take off? What about shares in a cannabis stock?

I still support my local botanist. I do however go to RDC Collective (So-Cal Co-op) and they are ALWAYS hooking it up with deals at their dispensary.

I don't know about you, but when I smoke, I want to rush to Taco Bell for nachos. It's my stoner food of choice. What's your favorite stoner food?

White cheddar popcorn is my vice. White cheddar Cheez-Its are runner ups. However, when I’m stoned, I crave all sorts of crazy snacks and munchies.

Where do you see your porn career going in the future? What are your plans?

I honestly don’t know sometimes. This industry has brought me to so many different places. My dream, however, is to create my own production. I want to bring a new type of porn to the industry that I hope others can enjoy.

Any upcoming flicks we should check out?

I just shot for Devil’s Film “My Husband Brought Home His Mistress.” It was super fun and really cute.

Let's talk about the industry in general. Where do you see the porn world moving? Do you see social media taking a backseat, or people bucking the trend and taking back internet freedom?

This industry has definitely come a long way from where it had been when I initially started in porn. When I first began, it was all about word-of-mouth. Twitter was a message board where we can be sexy and silly and tweet whatever we wanted. Nothing that was ever said was really taken seriously until the last few years that social media has begun to take off.

I think social media is a great way to promote ourselves as well as our brand. Unfortunately, many media platforms with religious sponsors are cracking down on sex workers because of the stigma that surrounds sex work in general. In due time though, I do believe that social media platforms will take a stand for independence as well as sexual liberation.

 What's a major pet peeve you have when it comes to guys and dating?

I don’t know what the last generation of parents did to men my age, but the sense of entitlement, as well as disregard for women and what women want, is staggering. Guys no longer respect women and just expect pussy to fall into their laps. What makes it worse is the fact that there is a new generation of girls who don’t value themselves because of these guys. Feminism is going backwards. 

In your experience, what is it that seems to trigger people to react so negatively to sex? Is it culture, insecurity...?

I definitely think it is a huge surge of insecurity. It’s not just the culture of sex, because sex culture isn’t a dirty culture. I live in a sexual culture, and I am happy, safe, and liberated. Insecurity comes from the fear of inadequacy. Unfortunately, this industry creates insecurities within people who already feel inadequate.

"My Husband Brought Home His Mistress" is actually the title of an increasingly-popular kink genre known as cuckqueaning. As you know, cuckqueaning is a kink that's only recently starting to get its well-deserved spotlight. (For those not in the know, it's when a woman is cuckolded by a man.) Are you into the kink yourself? If so, are you a quean or a mistress?

I am definitely into the cuckold kink, but I would much rather cuck a man than a woman. I would rather see women on the same level as myself as we make men our servants.

That’s pretty hot, and also pretty empowering. What legislation do you want to see passed to protect sex workers?

I just want to see prostitution/escorting legalized nationwide. What escorts provide is a service like any other and is a safer way for people to explore their own sexualities.
