When I first picked up the book to read it, I really didn’t think what to except. Needless to say that as Tyler stated that it was select haunting memories that somehow touch us all. For those that never knew what really went on in the porn world, it gives an insight for those that thought it was all fun and games.

The rumors of wild parties and rampant drug and alcohol abuse are all too true and explain why the industry for some drains them as a person.

Names and companies where changed but for anyone that has been around long enough, you could   pieces it together and figure out who is whom. Tyler goes on to tell of the racism he came across in both the civilian world as well as in the porn world which is still very apparent even today?

There are a lot of things in the book that are rather heart breaking as well as disturbing. To read about all his struggles in his life and how, with the help of Amanda he overcame illness as well as homelessness. He writes about the numerous HIV scares in the industry and how some companies where still shooting content even though there was a moratorium on several different occasions.

I had the pleasure of reviewing many of Tyler’s scenes in many of the PlayGirl titles and even met him in person. After reading his book Burn My Shadow, I have a new found respect for him.. Not many people can overcome the trials and tribulations of life and working their way from rock bottom when the deck is stacked against you because of the color of your skin.

I want to thank Tyler for sending me a copy to review and wish him the very best of luck with his book!
