What’s It Like to Work the Door at a High End Gentlemen’s Club

But what’s it like to be hot and work the door of a strip club? Rising porn starlet Alana Luv works the door at Sapphire, one of NYC’s hottest gentlemen’s clubs. Here’s a little insight into what it’s like and how you should be behaving at the door and once you get inside.

A typical night for this hottie is never boring. Every night is different and she never knows what will come her way. She starts her night off getting the guest list together. Once she’s at her post at the door, she never knows what kinds of clientele will come through. She gets a lot of good guys, but there’s also crazy ones. Her job is to greet the customers and assign them to a host. She’s the first face you will see, before the fun night begins.

Like a bartender, the customers like to chat. If they’ve had a pleasant experience with her at the door, many of customers will come out and have conversations with her about the night and their life. You never know what kind of stories they will tell her, and it can be very entertaining.

 Of course, she gets a ton of pick-up lines—working in a strip club and being hot just makes that inevitable. I asked her the worst one and it was… “Where do I begin? There are so many to choose from.” Wow, that guy sounds like a charmer!

So what happens when customers start acting crazy, get drunk or are just entirely too loud? That’s when security gets called in to calm them down or escort them out. So, just behave.

If you see Alana at the door, her job looks fun because it seems like a night out. But, it’s still a job and she takes her job very seriously. Her job is to make sure you have a good experience before you enter the club. Sometimes, patrons can be rude or just not nice, but she always keeps her cool—there’s never a dull moment whether it’s good or bad, and of course there’s lots of interesting people. She’s worked in nightlife for over 15 years and loves working at Sapphire and all her co-workers, who are like family to her.

Did you know door people get tips too? They do. Like any service industry job, tips are always welcomed. I asked her about her biggest tip. She told me it was a whopping $400 and she got it just for being cute. So make sure to tip all the personnel working at the club. Opening your wallet is the right thing to do, and will always get you the best service.

Do celebrities come by the club? Hell yea! But because she’s a professional, she didn’t name drop, but she says she’s seen her share of athletes and movies stars, because it’s the number one spot to be.

I asked her if she gets recognized for being a porn star at the door. She says she does and it’s actually pretty exciting. At times, they get all geeked up and star crazed. They call her a celebrity and want a picture with her. This makes her night. So, don’t be shy if you see her at the door and recognize this fox.
