For the first time a real-life married porn couple share Performer of the Year status as Anikka Albrite and Mick Blue took home female and male performer of the year nods, respectively, making history in the process. On the red carpet, mainstream porn stars shared the space with adult industry executives, transgendered performers, BBW and BHMs, international performers, making history in the diversity of performers and non-performers present that night. The awards ceremony awarded favorites to win including Carter Cruise as Starlet of the Year, surprises such as 24XXX winning movie of the year, made history with Mason becoming the first woman to win Director of the Year, and surprise with April Flores winning BBW Performer of the Year for the second year in a row beating out the odds on favorite to win. XCritic congratulates all who won and all who were nominated as 2014 was clearly one of the strongest years in terms of performers, films and creativity.
