Dangerous Curves: 2014 BBWs of the Year

The BBW of the Year nominations were recently announced and we couldn’t help but notice a few head scratching nominations for the prestigious award, plus some girls who were noticeably overlooked. This inspired Dangerous Curves to make its own list with a bit of a twist . . . all of the women listed below are more than worthy to be called BBWs of the Year. This list is in no particular order or ranking, just our own personal opinion of BBW performers who had consistently strong, solid performances throughout the year, and made an impact on this burgeoning genre in 2014. We’ve also made a separate list for best BBW director, BBW studio of the year and best BBW-themed title that were reviewed in XCritic over the past year, so if a particular studio was overlooked, demand that they send their stuff to XCritic so that they be reviewed by the best adult reviews staff in the industry.

Becki Butterfly

Becki has been working it and working hard for the past few years to rightfully earn her place among the elite in BBW porn. Her hard work will pay off big time with Becki making her mainstream debut for Evil Angel and Hustler in early 2015.

Angel DeLuca

Angel cut her teeth first in the cam world, appearing several nights a week on Chaturbate and regularly making appearances for the site at fan conventions. One of the most popular girls on the site, the busty curvy starlet is also one of the most popular, in demand performers in BBW. Often requested by male and female performers alike, in 2014 Angel has appeared in scorching scenes with veterans Jay Crew, Christian XXX and Rodney Moore, and critics have also taken notice of this future BBW superstar.

Scarlet LaVey

Scarlet is a BBW crossover sensation, having worked in her fair share of mainstream and BBW titles. Delivering one scorching performance after another, Scarlet has shot for Evil Angel, Wicked Pictures, Digital Sin, Immoral Productions and Plumper Nation.

April Flores

The reigning BBW Performer of the Year continues to be the genre’s most influential superstar. Her output in 2014 totally surpassed her award winning 2013, such as becoming the first BBW to have a mainstream showcase title devoted to her, Marshmallow Girls: April Flores from Evil Angel. The voluptuous Latina shows no plans on slowing down her performance output in 2015.

Jade Rose

No BBW worked harder in 2014 than Jade Rose, who has become the fastest rising BBW starlet and one of the hottest BBW performers today. A fan favorite, Jade’s website, hardcore and fetish clips store are among the most heavily trafficked for a BBW performer, was the first BBW to be featured in AVN’s new starlets column Fresh Face, and has made career making scenes for Rodney Moore and Plumper Nation. In 2015 Jade will be graduating to the big time with scenes in the upcoming BBW Nurses for Hustler and Marshmallow Girls 2 for Evil Angel.

Courtney Trouble

Courtney Trouble isn’t just on this list for her BBW work; Courtney is a pioneer, feminist, performer, director and businesswoman who has propelled Queer porn into the mainstream consciousness. In 2014 San Francisco Lesbians, directed by Courtney and released by Smash Pictures, was the first Queer porn title to be released by a major studio, her Trouble Films imprint is now among the host of titles distributed by Pure Play Media, and she made her mainstream performance debut in 2014 in Evil Angel’s Curvy Casting Couch. Known for her BBW and non-BBW porn work, Courtney continues to defy the odds for BBWs in porn.

Karla Lane

The qualities that have made Karla a superstar since her debut in 2005 continue to serve her well in 2014. Among the most popular BBWs ever, 2014 saw Karla continue to dominate in her scenes and as such, deserves to be included on any top BBW list.

Kelly Shibari

2014 was the year Kelly Shibari owned the BBW genre. A nominee for AVNs BBW Performer of the Year award, Kelly has already swept up several BBW awards (the Fannies, Inked Angels, Nightmoves), was the first BBW on the cover of Penthouse Forum, co-directing the first sex ed guide for BBWs, jessica drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex Plus Size, and had her own showcase title from Digital Sin, Meet Kelly. A superstar in front of the camera who has successfully and completely crossed over to the mainstream, she’s also a superstar behind the scenes, making Kelly one of the most important and influential BBW figures today.

Marilyn Mayson

While not as prolific as she was in 2013 every scene Marilyn appeared in 2014 she killed it. She continued to blow us all away with her energetic performances, making her male performers earn their pay by holding in their money blast as long as humanly possible. Even her solo scenes are cause for celebration and for that, Marilyn earns a spot on this list.

Eliza Allure

Not only is Eliza one of the most prolific BBW performers today she is also one of the few BBWs to break out into the mainstream side of things, earning her respect among her BBW peers. Dubbed the princess of BBW porn, Eliza continues to be a dominant force, especially true in 2014, that Eliza is arguably BBW porn’s hottest performer today. Making her base in Las Vegas, her popularity has gained Eliza enough recognition that her place will now be the center of attention as the home of the Vegas edition of the BBW camhouse in 2015.

Erin Green

Erin Green has less than 5 scenes to her credits but in 2014 the next great SSBBW performer was born, churning out one explosive scene after another including one of the all time best BBW-themed scenes ever in Rodney Moore’s Scale Bustin’ Babes 53, a title she graced the cover of. She has everything you want in a SSBBW; a sexual being that carries her 300 pound frame very well, gorgeous and the ability to keep her fan base wanting more, something we definitely want more of in 2015.
