There are porn stars and then, there are celebrity porn stars. Mary Carey is definitely in that category of a celebrity. Heck, she even ran for Governor of California. She has the sex appeal of Marilyn Monroe and Pamela Anderson as well as the whacky comedy appeal of Lucille Ball. So, it is not a surprise that her Vivid/Sirius XM radio show is called The Mary Carey Happy Hour. As she told me, "it is super fun and sexy, like a real happy hour." Her effervescent personality makes everyone in the room smile and laugh. It's also nice that Mary is a looker and built too.

Hi Mary, it's a pleasure to interview you. I am so pleased that you have your own on www.VividRadio.com. How did Vivid approach you in offering you your own show? What do you want your show to offer to your listeners?

I have always loved doing radio so when I heard Vivid was going to have a radio station I knew I had to somehow get involved since they always do everything top notch. I went in for a test and next thing I knew I got called in for a show. My show is called The Mary Carey Happy Hour. It is super fun and sexy, like a real happy hour. I have a different hot guest every week and we talk about sex and have a different sex topic that callers can call in and talk about. I always end every show with a toast, since it is happy hour after all.

I have always wondered what California would be like if you had been elected Governor. What would be your vision of California if you had been our leader? Legalized pot maybe? California Blow Job Day?

I really wanted to fix the deficit which was and still is a huge problem so anything to bring money into California would be great. I had some radical solutions to fix the radical problems. Although my first big thing was legalizing gay marriage which they have now done. I guess I was ahead of the game.

How did you begin in the adult industry?

I was always fascinated by it. I was a dancer at a strip club for 3 months and saw the feature dancers and wanted to do that. I started featuring and heard you made more money featuring if you were well known so I figured I better get famous quick. So I thought why not do adult movies. I started with Playboy TV and girl/girl and from there got my contract with Kick Ass Pictures and they had me run for Governor!

I know that your fans adore you. They must get pretty excited when they meet you since you are so cute and personable. How do you feel when you meet them? Are there any very memorable moments that stick in your mind when you and a fan met?

I love meeting them. I meet them all over the place too. Airports, the gym, restaurants. It's great. The place people come up to me the most is at sporting events. Basketball games and baseball games. My favorite moment was walking through a 76ers game and the guys in the stands all screaming out "We love you Mary Carey" and "We are not Worthy" it was about 50 of them.

What have been your most memorable on screen performances?

I would have to say my first boy/girl scene with Lee Stone in Mary Carey Rules 1 for Kick Ass Pictures. Loved that scene.

When I have you in my mind, you are always this bubbly and fun-loving person. You are a combination of Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball... sexy and silly. How were you as a kid?

Awwww, thanks. I would say I have always had this personality. I am super silly. Loud and crazy. I was a ballet dancer growing up, so very serious, but also super silly.

What makes a man sexy? What makes a woman sexy?

Confidence. When someone is confident, they are sexy.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I love going to the gym, the beach, and attending sporting events.

What is your opinion on the political fuss about male performers wearing condoms on camera? Do you think that it will hurt the industry? I always thought it won't hurt it too much since guys want to see a gorgeous woman get screwed. It's the eye candy appeal of the woman that is the main attraction.

I think it should be up to the performer and have always thought that. It is not the right of the government nor the company. I don't think guys watching really care either way. If they like a certain girl, they will watch her with or without the guy wearing one.

Many adult performers love animals. Do you have any pets?

I had a Pomeranian named Boo Boo. I love little cute doggies, but due to all my traveling, he was with a dog sitter more than me.

Your feature dancing performances are always crowd pleasers. When did you first get on stage? What are your favorite outfits to wear and then, take off on stage?

I was in a wet t-shirt contest at 19! Loved being on stage in front of everyone. I love feature dancing. I have a Wonder Woman outfit, Moulin Rouge, naughty nurse, 80s theme, Bo Peep and school girl. Feature dancing is one of my favorite things to do.

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

I love being a sex symbol. It's awesome.
