I like that Derrick Pierce is an ambitious person. That's the appropriate word to describe his current endeavor in launching the first mobile Crossfit affiliate gym. Of course, us porn fans know him as the handsome and fit performer that gets to screw all of the hot babes. I am impressed that he continues to be one of the performers who is also professionally successful away from the adult industry. His dedication and skillfulness for training has made Derrick a respected MMA and Crossfit trainer in the fitness community. Of course, for his fans especially the female ones, we can continue seeing him in award winning films.

Hi Derrick, congratulations on winning Best Actor at the 2014 XBIZ Awards for a Couples Themed Release. What were your thoughts about Wicked making "Tuff Love", a mixed martial arts film starring two women as fighters? It must had been fun working with Adrianna Luna who is an MMA athlete.

I thought that it was cool Wicked green lit this project. It was kind of a departure from what is in their catalogue at this point. It was a little more gritty and being a fight movie, well that just made it cool in my eyes. Nothing hotter than two sweaty women rolling around trying to submit the other in one fashion or another.

To be honest, it was Brad Armstrong's "stamp of approval" that put this project on the calendar. If he hadn't stepped up for me, it would probably still be waiting to be shot. I couldn't have asked for a better crew than what I had.

Industry people and your fans are impressed at how fit you are. Could you tell us your physical and athletic background? Is there a particular regimen that you do everyday to stay fit?

Derrick Pierce

Well my background in fitness has varied over the years. Two years after high school, I went from 195 lbs to about 245 lbs. I was just kinda "round". Around that time (19 yrs old), I found martial arts (taekwondo/hapkido) and I was hooked. I steadily lost weight over the years, but finally kept it off when I started fighting. I was tired of playing as a heavyweight and getting my ass handed to me. So I dropped from 220 lbs to about 190ish and cut to 184 to fight.

Now I train MMA two times per week and Crossfit. That is the only "regimen" that I keep. Train hard, work hard.

Mixed Martial Arts has exploded in popularity. It is definitely more popular and profitable than boxing and wresting. What are your thoughts on why this sport is so huge? It is so cool that many women are MMA fans.

I think that MMA has made such a statement because it is of this generation. We "created" this sport in a way. Many of the fans can identify with the athletes. I think that they are "real" to the fans. It is very blue collar in that way.

Do you think that it will become an Olympic sport? If so, do you think that professionals should be eligible to compete? It would be difficult to get amateurs eligible since MMA does not have the structure in high school and college like wrestlers do.

MMA is an incredible sport by any stretch of the term, but it will never be an Olympic sport. Not because it doesn't deserve it, because it is too similar to other sports that are already affiliated. The sport needs to be unique in relation to the other options. That's the main reason why Olympic lifting is in and power lifting isn't. MMA will stand where it is.

How long have you been in the adult industry? How did you get started in it?

Around 7 years. Short version... DVSX hired me to shoot a scene with Vanessa Lane. I had lied to the producer and told him that "I had been shooting already". He gave me a shot and it went well. Now I'm here.

What has been your most pleasurable moments so far? What has been your least pleasurable?

Most pleasurable? I couldn't pinpoint it. Least pleasurable..... Anytime I was failing a scene!! Luckily, that hasn't happened much.

You are about to launch the first mobile Crossfit affiliate gym. Could you tell us about it?

It's called Crossfit Drop (http://crossfitdrop.com) & it's the first ever, fully functioning Crossfit affiliate. As far as I know, I'm the only Crossfit gym on wheels that doesn't have to omit certain aspects of Crossfit training. We have it all including the best damn bootcamp, PERIOD.

You have worked with Jessica Drake many times. What are the qualities that she has that make her one of the best actresses and performers in this business?

Jessica is one for the books. She takes such pride in whatever she undertakes. She works hard, both in front and behind the camera. Most people have no idea about the non profit stuff that she is involved in. She is an amazing person and crazy sexy...so yea....there's always that.

What has been the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry since you have started?

How efficient the crews can be. Our business leads the pack in regards to technology. I am always amazed at how we utilize advancements. First ones to shoot digital... Shoot on cards.... On and on and on.

You directed Tuff Love. How did that film come to fruition? Did you take that idea to Wicked Pictures or did they come to you? While developing the story, did you already know that you wanted Adrianna Luna in the main role?

In truth, I wrote her character as a version of her. There was never a question of who the female leads would be.

I brought the project to Wicked & they embraced it, lucky for me!

What makes a woman sexy? What traits do you admire in a woman?

Sex appeal starts with the way they carry themselves. Body types differ, but confidence is unmistakable. Looks are the initial attraction, but that only goes so far.

How were you as a kid?

I was always in trouble. A "bad boy" of sorts. My mom always said I had a good heart, but I just made bad choices and didn't think past that moment. I have tried to work on that.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I love to train! I also ride motorcycles, play video games, and I really like to shop.

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

The WOMEN!

With the condom issue in Los Angeles, do you think that many adult studios will move to Las Vegas for production?

No, I don't. I think that it will end up being pushed "underground". We will still test and what not. But, if the city is actually able to enforce the law, well things might change.

Are there any web sites or future projects that you would like to promote?

This will be a good year I think. Projects will be plentiful, but for now I have a website dropping with PUBA.com.
