Happy 5th/10th Birthday XCritic

XCritic had its humble beginnings 10 years ago as part of DVD Talk (2002!). In 2007 it was spun off as it's own site and became completely independant. We now celebrate our massive 5 year / 10 year birthday. From the humble beginnings we've grown to be one of the most significant adult publications in existence and one of the few sucessful consumer focused adult publications.

This year members of our staff will be voting in the AVN, XBiz and XRCO awards, a trifecta that no other publication has achieved. But as we celebrate our 10/5 years we find ourselves making a few changes. First is the announcement of the retirement of Dr Jay. Dr Jay's Must See Girls has been an institution in the adult industry and even though he gave us his blessing to continue it, we've decided that no one can fill his shoes. So we will be giving out one final Must See Girl award at the end of the year and retiring this program.

After a few years of plugging away at new talent, Bill The Hobbyist is also going on hiatus from his popular Newcomers and Fresh Faces column. It's important to get fresh eyes on fresh talent, so we're in the process of grooming his replacement and will be back with the column starting in January after AVN.

Lest these departures not cast a somber note on our brithday celebration! We're happy to announce that we've greatly expanded our review panel adding Leya Falcon, Robin John-Blake and Spook Central to our staff. We are also hard at work on a few things that are still underwraps which we will be announcing early 2013 (they are all quite exciting). XCritic has seen some amazing growth and we owe our sucess to you, our readers. So thank you for helping us be what we are and join us in celebrating our milestone!
