Hi Julie, this year marks the eleventh anniversary of your popular website www.JulieSimone.com. You are also a legend in the FemDom genre. When did you first realize you enjoyed the fetish environment of sexual play? What does the BDSM experience give you that regular sex lacks?

I first realized I was into rough sex when I was in my early 20's. My partner and I had gotten into an argument and then had violent sex, which was super hot. I don't need BDSM to be a component of my sex life. For me, it's more of an appetizer, though after a while I tend to get bored if it's lovey-dovey romantic sex all the time. It's all about intensity which is something that can be achieved a myriad of ways.

How long have you been in the industry? What has been your most pleasurable moments? What has been your least pleasurable?

I've been in the industry for 14 years. I've had so many great moments such as working with Ashley Renee. It is always great such as being drawn and painted by Dave Nestler, all my magazine layouts, winning best rigger in 2004, my first AVN nomination, and being a featured filmmaker at the Berlin Porn Film Festival. These are among the high points.

My least pleasurable was the short period where I was doing Boy/Girl porn. It seemed like a great situation in having sex with hot guys and getting paid. Instead, it was degrading and humiliating. Being put on BBW covers, even though at my heaviest I was never a BBW, was another low point.

How did you get into the adult industry?

My first adult job was at a webcam place back in '97, though I had done some art modeling while in college. I started doing marketing for the webcam place and found an adult site in my area, ALScan.com, which was my first adult shoot. I'm Gillian on their site. They paid well, treated me like a queen, and the pics looked beautiful. So I started doing more of that type of work

You are great in both submissive and dominating roles. Could you tell us how each role satisfies you?

I used to say that the only time I could relax was when I was tied up. Now that I have 1,000 times more responsibilities, that statement means way more to me, though I'm way more into SM than rope these days. Being on the bottom means not having to think, you get to be in the moment and react. Being the top has its own high. You feed off the other person's energy. It's thrilling being able to make another person completely melt before you.

That everything the media says about it is pretty much true. I wanted to believe that it was different, but my own personal experience confirmed every negative thing I'd read about it.
