Ft. Lauderdale, Florida- It was a good weekend as far as Florida weather goes, I think it only rained on the outdoor cabanas once the entire time. That left plenty of Florida Sunshine for the people at the pool and the internet companies with their outside cabanas.
The show mixed the internet companies and the novelty companies and there were also some adult production companies there as well but they were focusing on the internet and novelty sides of the industry as well.
I was sent there by the Screaming O which was up for a couple of AVN "O" Awards over the weekend. I was instructed the accept the awards if we won and do what I do best which is hang out with the cool people and make new friends. On the making friends part it was a great weekend as I got to meet and hang out with the guys from a new production company, Pleasure Dynasty, which shoots in all kinds of formats including a line of 3-D for Adult Gonzo Scenes. You have to check out Minka Studios. The awards part of the weekend was a bit different... Well We lost both awards, to great companies I may add, but the open bar during the awards was a nice touch. We like to find the good in every situation.
I had a great time hanging out with the people from Black and Blue Media and of course my friend from Xcitement Magazine out of the Miami area. We drank, we laughed, we ate great sushi, then we drank again.
Saturday night was party night with both Tori Black and Lupe Fuentes both hosting parties at the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel. The Clubs were right next to each other and the South Florida patio style entrances made it easy to go and see both of the beautiful ladies and enjoy both parties. The Hard Rock was great and we even had some Chinese food for breakfast before we left to head back to the hotel at about 5 in the morning.. I love being in a city that stays open all night.
Sunday was the last day of the AVN Show but I packed my bags and headed back to West Palm Beach to see about a Mainstream Horror movie I might get involved in for November and December.
All in all with the people I was hanging around I would have to say that it was a good time for us at the first ever AVN Show... Of course we were not selling anything, just making new friends.
