Texas, part two

XCRITIC

Rules of Attraction was pretty good. As in somewhere between tepid and wildly entertaining. The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things (JT Leroy), however, was phenomenal. The writing was done so well that when I loaned it to a person who was repulsed by the subject matter, they still couldn't put it down until they reached the end. To me, that means amazing writing.

Meanwhile, I'm in Texas. Hence the blog title. Before you ask, no... there is no 'texas, part one'. Only two. Don't like it? Go read someone else's blog. There's plenty of them around here.

Today mostly involved an adventure with Jesse to the local wal-mart. The reason for this laziness is that apparently Texas radio doesn't like adult performers. I'd have preferred working this morning and doing the usual pre-signing tour of radio stations, but unfortunately we had nothing but free time today. The reason for this wal-mart safari was to track down swimsuits, wrestle them out of the tangle of hangers, and try to find something appropriately sized and wear it to swim in the hotel pool. Did I mention it's fantastically warm and humid here? I didn't. It's fantastically warm and humid here.

I like swimming. I like water. As evidence of this, I would like to direct you to https://fleshbot.com/5153219/stoya-conquers-the-waves-as-easily-as-she-conquers-the-porn-industry

Yep. Pictures. Be excited. Save the link and soak up the picture-ness because (in case you haven't noticed) I'm not a fan of taking and posting thousands of photographs of myself.
Unless it's going to be amazing, phenomenal, new (for me), relevant and worth every second of the time you spend looking at it and the time I spend making it, I'd rather be sewing. Or reading. Or answering messages on the internet. Or laying on my back outside, staring at the sky and wondering about random strangeness. Or any number of other things. I feel so strongly about this that I feel the need to drive home my point with excessive use of the word 'or' in one paragraph.

In other news, my recently fixed sewing machine is waiting for me to get home. I'm quite excited to do just that on Sunday. Three and a half whole days at home to get something productive done. My days at home last week were largely taken up with bills, taxes, paperwork and trying to get my crazy electric problem fixed. Oh, I guess I didn't mention the crazy electric problem either. The lights flicker. If it were possible for lights to flicker violently, I would say that's what they're doing. It's kinda freaking me out. Meanwhile, the intercom (which hasn't really seemed to serve any purpose over the time I've lived there) goes on and off. Loudly. Maybe that's it's purpose? Anyhow, the usually professional landlord came and checked it out and said "that's fucking wierd". Amazing.

Now, to go sign pirates2 stuff. Posters. Lots of posters.
