Wishing Upon a (porn) Star

We all know it is a new generation of porn performers these days with girls stepping off the bus or plane looking to see their name in the bright lights of porn stardom. Girls in their late teens and just out of high school come into the business expecting, or hoping at least, to make some serious bank. And with the money they make per scene I don't see how it wouldn't happen.

However a lot of these girls coming into the business never had this much excess staring them right in the face and they spend the money as fast as they make it, maybe this is one reason why escorting is on the rise in the industry. But I digress, that's a whole different story for another time.

The girls in today's adult film industry are far more accessible than ever with conventions, awards shows, Myspace, message boards, groups, dancing among many other ways. You can talk to your favorite porn performer and actually get to know her, well sort of. Now with these girls being more attainable it is easier for the typical porn fan boy to show their affection for these girls by showering them with gifts and care packages. This sign of love, or lust as it may be, has filtered into porn girls making their "wish lists" for the fan boys to buy and send them things.

I find this pretty amusing considering most of these girls are making triple (or more) wages per day than the guys sending them presents. But it doesn't stop them. The wish lists keep on going to the point where I saw a porn star post on her Myspace page "Spoil Me, Motherfuckers" as her blog title said and went on to say "...I would like everybody to send me presents. Send me a message and I'll give you the links." And of course the guys lapped it up like a cat lapping up milk.

I am not a materialistic person at all. As long as I have my friends, family, my bills paid, and can maintain my on-going battles with my health, I am all good. So it got me to thinking, if I was a porn star and had fans at my feet what would be on my wish list....
