Hi all!
Whew! It's been a fast 'n wild couple of weeks since my last blog. Work has been wild but I did find time to fly to NYC to visit some friends in Brooklyn. I had a great time hanging out with my pals (who make killer margaritas) and I also got to sling back some Pabst Blue Ribbons with fellow reviewer The Mooninite (straight XXX reviews) and his girlfriend at a cool punk bar Manitoba's. Both very cool people!
My pal J. took me to a very neat-o DVD/CD store called Kim's Underground and I behaved myself and didn't spend too much scratch. I picked up the collector's edition of John Waters "Serial Mom", "Can't Stop the Music" starring The Village People, a cool Italian murder mystery "Blood and Black Lace", and an early 1970s horror movie "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things" (How's that for a title?)
"Pussywillows!"
I've been listening to Green Day's side band Foxboro Hot Tubs who have a very cool 1960s garage sound, Duffy with her groovy 1960s pop/soul that reminds me of the late great Dusty Springfield, and a band I used to hang out with back in my Los Angeles days The Pandoras. The Pandoras' song "I Want My Caveman" is pure/raw 1960s influenced garage rock.
I have a number of upcoming reviews including this tasty title:
Here are some Retro hotties for ya!
.....and the beautiful Miss Bettie Page!
.....and one more hunk!
Cheers!
