Yesterday, May 14 was a pretty big day for me for a couple reasons, but mainly yesterday was a big anniversary.
The celebration in question was the 22 year of my Kidney Transplant. It is like a second birthday to me and my family because if I didn't have the transplant I wouldn't be alive today. And frankly, I never thought I would live this long with a transplant. I was a little kid when it happened so I didn't grasp the magnitude of it all, but now that I am getting older and the side effects of years of medication are starting to rear its ugly head I can understand more.
I am not going to get into a long diatribe about it or search for sympathy because that's not me. I just wanted to blog about it to say THANK YOU for my friends who look after me when I am not feeling well, and those who stick by me when I get a bit down about the whole situation.
