Porn “stars”

I feel that in porn there are only 2 real "stars" and everyone else is a performer.  The term "star" gets used loosely by just about every industry and porn is no different, but this has to be the only industry where any performance at all qualifies you for "star" status.  Hey I'm in the BTS of Hush Girls Vacation Winter Edition...so I guess that makes me a "star" too!  Mom would be so proud!

But in my opinion the only 2 real stars are Jenna Jameson and Ron Jeremy.  If you've read any of my previous blogs, then you know how I feel about Jenna.  While I appreciate everything she did, I don't know if she appreciates anything anyone else did.  It's as if porn didn't exist before Jenna, and she seems to think we'll all stop watching once she stops spreading her chicken legs.  AVN has gone as far as to name their Crossover Star Of The Year award after her, though after the completely tactless comments by Jameson this year, maybe they are regretting it.

So, I wonder why this industry doesn't put Ron Jeremy up on the same pedestal as it does Jameson.  Jenna's contributions these days seem to be plastic surgeries and unhealthy weight loss combined with the rare "new" movie where she has sex with her husband while a midget in devil horns looms nearby.  Yes her movies sell, we know that.  Michael Bay's movies make money, but the Academy Awards hasn't renamed the Best Direction award after him.

Back to Ron...here's a man that's spent almost a lifetime in adult.  He was there when porn really took off, and he's never wavered in his support of it.  He goes on the road practically full time debating the anti-porn crowd.  When's the last time you heard Jenna do ANYTHING that wasn't in her own promotion?  The last time she "fought the good fight" for the industry was to keep her strip club open.  Ron is constantly putting his face out there to defend our right to porn.  Does Ron shill for Metro or Hotmovies, yeah he does, but only to the extent of wearing a t-shirt or a brief website mention.  When you mention Ron Jeremy to most people, they laugh..."the hedgehog", "the fat guy", "the guy who sucked his own dick", and to Ron's credit he embraces all the things that people could use to tear him down.  And then he proceeds to dismantle some anti-porn zealot on national TV.  Something Jameson rarely does, if ever.
