Spotlight Title: Slut Puppies 2: Special Edition

The best of the lot this week was Slut Puppies 2:
Special Edition; the sequel to the well received Slut Puppies 1. The movie contained a scene with uber hotty Teagan Presley taken from a few years back; perhaps her last before going under contract to Digital
Playground. The mix of older and newer scenes provided the means to compare the evolution of Jules
Jordan without the digital manipulations of the material as done in many recent compilations to smooth over differences. In short, his anamorphically enhanced new scenes are so much better in terms of lighting, composition, and even his ability to get the best performances out of the ladies that I'm less willing to shell out the money to go back to his roots and see what the fuss was all about. In this case, every scene was good or better, some reaching outstanding status, though the puppy theme was only truly employed once. Slut Puppies 2:
Special Edition was another title worthy of his legacy as he provided some superior quality AND quantity of fuck for the buck with a nice showcase of his advances in technical skills complimented by the cast of lovely ladies, not least of which was Teagan. There are few gonzo companies in the same league as Jules
Jordan Video and titles like Slut Puppies 2:
Special Edition show why his ascension up the ladder of the porn pantheon is not yet complete but he continues to leave many peers in his wake as he evolves. In all then, this DVD set was worth a rating of Highly Recommended or better for raincoaters and fans of gonzo that subscribe to the notion that more is better as well as better is better in what is sure to be a top seller. Sneak Peeks: Hush

Okay, the admittedly extreme gonzo sex antics of Mr. Jordan might be a little advanced for some of you so if you want something to watch with a loved one, you might want to try the upcoming Hush, the Christmas present from director Celeste to her fans described as: a series of vignettes that spotlight the lovely and talented contract stars Jesse Jane and Shay Jordan (though mostly Jesse). Using slow motion and other visual effects, the idea was to create an obtainable fantasy style of action, this time pulling out all stops to provide lots of fuck for the buck (it lasted almost an hour longer then what I expected AND had some decent extras on top of that). If you're in the market for heated erotica, you've come to the right place. Hush was a lot of fun to watch and I say this without the usual qualifiers. The production team worked very hard to instill some extra spark in the scenes, largely succeeding thanks to the manner in which all the elements came together but also due to the subject matter (none of the gals here were third tier). If you're looking for something with circus act sex tricks, abusive men, and harsh lighting like you'll find at the local Wal-Mart (or your typical gonzo flick), you'll want to keep looking but if you're looking for something to snuggle up with a loved one and watch, you'll think of Hush as one worthy of a Highly Recommended. marking it as another milestone in the Digital
Playground library worth looking into, though hopefully not the last stop on the line.

Highlights of The Week

If not for Slut Puppies 2, Own My Ass would have taken top honors this week thanks in large part to scenes by hotties like Dana DeArmond and a few of her peers. Reviewer Don Houston suggested it like this: Jake Malone is one of the newest directors at Evil Angel and being handpicked by the master of gonzo himself, John Stagliano, is award enough that you're doing something right. In the all too crowded world of gonzo porn, most directors simply point and shoot or copy what sells from others so the rarity of a pervert like Jake that can offer something different should not be overlooked. I might think he looks creepy and old but I can't deny that he's into the action and that alone is a step above the norm. His latest work for the company to distribute is Own My Ass, another lengthy anal adventure worth your time and seed. If you like gonzo and the cast listed, you'll find this one a great flick that will take you numerous sessions of self love to get through even once, with some of the best talent of the day in spotlight scenes like Dana DeArmond, Mia Rose, and Sasha Knox leading the pack. Own My Ass was clearly another title that earned a rating of Highly Recommended for fans of anal excitement. He didn't rely heavily on tricks and slight of hand as others have tried; preferring to get the best ladies available and allow them a chance to shine. The best scene was by Dana but even the worst scene was better than much of what passes for gonzo these days, with decent technical values, an eye on quality, and lots of anal fuck for the buck; featuring studly Manuel Ferrara as the man in front of the camera to make it happen. In short, Own My Ass provided a lot to like and seemed to pay tribute to the skills of the ladies more than anything else, with three hours of pure pleasure offered up for your assistance. Up next for couples was Heat Wave: a showcase for their newest contract hotty, Tiffany Taylor, with a small budget vignette theme for fans. Well, you can read about them below but here's a quick look at the words on the cover to give you the idea that Vivid wanted you to associate with the flick: "It's an afternoon in the Valley in the record heat of the summer. The technical matters were mixed but favorable, the extras only slightly less then what Vivid tends to offer, and I have to admit that I liked Heat Wave enough to rate it as Recommended. Vivid is home to some of the most attractive ladies in porn these days and Tiffany Taylor is certainly one of them so I hope she cranks up the heat in future efforts to really shine as brightly as she can.

We also found a title geared for people under 25 with Myplace: A Space for Whores: a parody of the My Space phenomenon. Each scene played out like a cross between Jack's
Playground and one of the Shane's
World travel shows, adding in a lot more fun then some of the supposedly alternative "Alt-Porn" offerings have done. The freshness factor and seemingly unscripted action made for a lot of fun, with some of the cast providing awesome displays of affection for the men. Myplace: A Space for Whores had four really fun scenes and one of questionable merit but I still thought the amount of fuck for the buck, the fun and freshness factors, and the ladies all added up to a title I can suggest as Recommended. There were few extras worth mentioning but the movie itself lasted over 200 minutes and this was definitely not the kind of porn your father got into years ago. In short, Myplace: A Space for Whores joins the ranks of Shane's World and Jack's Playground in providing a truly alternative style of porn where people have fun with sex instead of show contempt for the audience, making it worth checking out for anyone seeking a great time. The action was really strokable and I look forward to the next volume if it's even close to this good.

Lovely fetish queen reviewer Ravyn found one to like with Taboo 8: In her directorial debut, Lee Forbes walks down the fetish road all from a different POV. Many of the fetish movies out there have been made by men and always lacked a certain touch to them. This being my second fetish film as a reviewer and I enjoyed it immensely. As far as the toys go, they needed to venture further into the use of the wide array they had on the set with them. Other than that I saw nothing else wrong with the movie beside the g/g scene which should have been edited out.
As I watched, I took note of the length of time of each clip and how the actors interacted with each other. I was pleased to see that no one rushed and really took the time to further draw the viewer in.

Cross showed he had a lighter side too with Snatch: a cleverly titled feature about a professional burglar (that happens to have a lovely pussy). While Austyn might have the acting ability of a youthful Jenna Jameson, she at least can fall back on her looks and one glance at the cover of the DVD will tell you that this shouldn't be underestimated. In terms of the story, she plays a hardened thief that takes on an apprentice and soon finds that life gets more complicated as a result. It was a breezy and light plot but with such a fine cast backing her up, there was a lot to enjoy about the movie. Snatch was exactly what it looked like it was designed to be; a breezy little feature flick for the company to showcase their then-contract gal Austyn. I've never thought their gals showed much acting skill but they routinely appeal to me where it really counts; below the belt. The extras were solid this time, the technical matters handled well enough, and the fun factor of the story was such that I enjoyed the movie enough to rate it as Recommended. In short, Snatch was a cute little flick designed for fans of Austyn that fit in with the body of her other works (Carmen & Austyn, The Contractor, Tailgunners, University of Austyn 1, and University of Austyn 2) fairly well so give it a look if you like her.

Michael Ninn's latest all girl extravaganza features a few Ninn Worx regulars all getting it on against some fancy backdrops and with the aid of some strong art direction and a killer wardrobe. Our Jim Holliday retrospective look continues with a few pleasing titles such as Little Town
Flirts: a movie about a pool tournament concurrently with High Desert Dream Girls, using the casts fluidly to offer up more for less as the saying goes. It was a fun little fluff flick and the cast was well handled so I found it to have the kind of replay value many movies made back then simply don't offer in terms of standing the tests of time. Little Town Flirts was worth a rating of Recommended for the ladies, the technical values, and the amounts of fuck for the buck as augmented by the sweet package of extras. These days, the adage companies seem to live by is getting less while spending more, turning things around on loyal consumers so a title like this works even better by comparison. In short, Little Town Flirts was fun in the sun, fluffy and more fun than anything except actually getting laid in terms of this type of movie so check it out.

We then looked at the companion piece shot at the same time with High Desert Dream
Girls: was cute as it had the plot bare thread of a drifting journalist out in the boonies looking for a sex story to write. The cover said it like this: "The California high desert is a cold and foreboding place to strangers, but hotter than all hell to the locals who guard their way of life and their individuality. Amidst the beauty of the Mojave Desert, and shot in the distinctive Jim Holliday style, find out what happens when a smug city slicker photo journalist tries to do a on the unique sexual proclivities of high desert dwellers. You will discover that too much knowledge might not be a good thing." In all, it was a nice effort well worth checking out for Jim's fans. High Desert Dream Girls was a lot like Little Town Flirts in terms of how well it was handled on all levels. It didn't really stand out in any major way but the casting, the technical values, the amount of extras and fuck for the buck all combined to make the movie worthy of being Recommended. In short, High Desert Dream Girls was better than just a fuck flick for Jim Holliday fans but it wasn't his absolute best work of the 2000's either. Give it a look when you get a chance and you can pretty much rest assured that you'll be stroking in no time.

Talented reviewer Colonel Mustard continued looking into the popular Private Boxed Sets with Tropical Deluxe Box Set 4: If you weren't already jealous of the life or an Adult Film Director's life, now imagine that you are Alessandro Del Mar. Not only is he in charge of recording super hot European ladies fucking and sucking in front of the camera, but Mr. Del Mar also gets to travel to the Caribbean to do so. This box set consists of four full length 90 minutes full of scenic views, hot European women and a bevy of hardcore sexual intercourse, Private style. Each movie has a very light plot, includes six hardcore sex scenes in exotic locales. Each of the DVDs would probably get a 'Rent It' rating on their own. However, from a volume and price standpoint, all four "Rent It's" equals a Recommended rating in my book. Alessandro del Mar churns out these mini-movies at a very quick rate, and they all may feel like they were taken out of the same batch of cookie cutter films, but they are edited well, have exotic backdrops and include some of the finest women in the Private stable.
The DVDs look spectacular and are all shot in 16:9 Anamorphic Widescreen.

Another title taking a unique approach was I Film Myself:
a series of masturbation scenes where the ladies control the camera with no assistance as they masturbate alone in a room. Having seen similar projects over the years at weaker companies, I originally thought this one was going to be lame since most people have a really weak idea as to how to control a camera while getting off but the rough edges aside, this proved to work surprisingly well. The cover said it like this:

Comparing it to more mainstream porn projects is meaningless since it really seemed to convey a sense of heat in most cases, a marked change for some of the cast. Further, the levels of fuck for the buck and replay value was higher then expected, making I Film Myself worthy of at least a rating of Recommended for all the rough edges it had, thanks to the playfulness of the action. I hope the series continues and uses other gals of merit, a particularly important factor for a show like this that strips them naked of any of the usual trappings of modern porn.

With that being said though Spit Whores pushes the envelope but still manages to be enjoyable. I've Been

We close out this week in porn with a detailed examination by reviewer Disco Dirge of Chronicles of a
Pervert: Covered in tattoos, attitude as cocky as his penis is long, alt-porn pioneer Rob Rotten sure looks the role of adult agent provocateur. In an industry where those who work behind the scenes tend to be as popular as those providing the pumping, Rotten retains his somewhat slick street cred by playing it completely and utterly for the people. If you are to believe his website - and his DVDs - he will take input from the audience, even allowing some lucky SOB to live out his favorite fantasy, onscreen, with the adult actress of his choice. It all sounds so inclusive and fan-friendly, and in many ways, Rotten's approach fits perfectly in with the post-modern ideal of erotica. Unlike the '70s, which tried to sell the sex film as a XXX version of the standard motion picture, or the '80s and '90s which turned the industry into a hallowed home video domain, you get the distinct impression that Rotten wants to make this material as interactive as possible, to cut down the barriers between performer and purchaser. Some of his choices are inspired. Some are just plain retarded. But there is an inherent accessibility to what he's attempting that seems to escape more fanciful fuck filmmakers like Michael Ninn or Chi Chi LaRue. Whether this is good for the state of smut is another argument for another day. While not the best balling The Dirge has seen in the last few months, it is light years beyond the other attempts at meshing an alternative approach to the adult film standard. Rob Rotten has an intriguing central conceit â€" porn for the people, if you will â€" and if he can just control his flaccid flights or artistic fancy, he can carve out a considerable niche in what is rapidly becoming an overdone dynamic. XXX material is becoming so safe and sanitized, staged to maximize marketability and product acceptability that the industry needs people like Rotten to keep it fresh and on its toes.

Big Value VCA Extras

Whether you're buying a new car or a new porno, value should be one of the deciding factors when making a purchase. Countless DVDs on the market fall seriously short of providing their customers with enough fuck for your buck, especially when companies are complaining of lackluster sales. One company, however, is looking to curb that trend.

Pictures now releases most of their premium titles in a "double feature" format that includes a free DVD. Such titles as Bang My Juice Boxxx and 18 & Easy #4 each come with a four hour compilation disc while others like Eye Candy: Camp Fuck A Lot, Ripe & Ready MILFs, and Pin Up Pussy go so far as to include award winning titles from the back catalog such as Eye Candy, Still Insatiable, and Cashmere, respectively. So, if you're looking to stretch your porn dollar, definitely look into some of the newer releases by VCA
