Tailgunners, Jenna’s Provocateur and The New Neighbors

Spotlight Title: Tailgunners

Tailgunners is one of those big budget features we see each year that really expands the envelope of what we expect from the industry. Adam & Eve is one of the most successful companies in all of adult and has been for many years. Initially known for their wonderful array of sex toys, the company branched out into making porn long ago, hiring an assortment of directors and contract stars that showed some keen strategic planning on their part. Company founder and president Phil Harvey fought the good fight in the courts as well, going to jail to protect the rights of everyday people to have access to his wares (read his book about it for details), something most of the current crop of owners weren't around to see so very long ago. Well, this being the time of year that companies release their blockbusters, I was half expecting them to team up with another company as they have in the past (last year with Digital Playground to make Pirates and previously with Wicked Pictures to make Conquest but instead they went it alone and commissioned director Nick Orleans to make Tailgunners;
a WWII adventure movie about a German attempt to bomb New York City with a nuclear weapon. The sexual protagonist and lead of the movie was Austyn Moore and her evil counterpart was played by contract cutie Carmen Luvana.

Tailgunners
embodies the kind of blockbuster values the major companies tend to display at this time of year in search of the scores of awards the industry has to offer. Adam & Eve seems predestined to be on the short list of all the major categories you care about, a tribute to the effort and resources dedicated to the movie. It's clear why they picked Carmen and Austyn to represent them and the use of company president Phil Harvey as a central character added just the right touch to this action packed WWII adventure story.
There were eleven scenes of depravity, including some of the hardest action the company has ever released in one of their movies, and the possibilities for your replay value given a cast that includes some of the finest performers in adult entertainment today is nearly endless. If you're in the market for a big budget porn feature this year, you should give some consideration to Tailgunners
for all the tail it has to offer.

Sneak Peeks: Anal Romance 3

We got an early look at Anal Romance 3 this week before the general public gets a chance to enjoy it. Steve Holmes has been considered one of the gentlemen of porn now for years for the way he treats the ladies with a sense of old world grace and charm when allowed to do so. I saw it in person at one of the conventions in Las Vegas and I've seen it in various BTS features so if it's just an act, he makes it look real. Now that PXP has stopped shooting porn for awhile, Steve has taken one of his older series and brought it to Mach 2, with the result being Anal Romance 3, the thematic sequel to Anal Romance 2 and Anal Romance 1. The show spends a lot of time establishing the men in romantic settings with the ladies after they heat up the small screen with some splendid tease footage, leading to a lot of variations on the anal sex barometer. Anal Romance 3 wasn't the best movie I've seen by director Steve Holmes but it wasn't bad either. In that sense, Anal Romance 3 was much like other releases by Mach 2 but it fit in well with the previous volumes in the series nicely as well. The extras were good, the technical values decent, and levels of fuck for the buck and replay value could've gone either way. Give it a look before you buy but note that Steve's back in the business directing so I hope he shows us all what he's capable of in the future.

Highlights of The Week

We open this week's highlights with a look by reviewer Don Houston of Jenna's
Provocateur: Jesse Capelli, one of six volumes in the series, each with unique extras tailored to the starlet on the front cover of the versions. "It showed that Club Jenna was willing to step up to the plate and try something new, something arguably exciting, and something off the beaten track for a porn company these days. The sex was almost always top notch for what the performers limits were, the extras were far better than expected from the company given their past titles, and the multiple version release will undoubtedly draw some press though a lot of fans will scream "double dip" in a harsh manner since they'll be forced to pick between which contract performer they want spotlighted by a given volume. Still, I liked Jenna's
Provocateur: Jesse Capelli enough that I nearly elevated the rating above Recommended. I wanted more extensive extras and a lengthier movie but this was clearly showing that Club Jenna was catching up to their competition and I hope their next releases are even better (Jenna spoke of a volume two in the works)."

We continue to dip into the vaults at VCA Pictures with our look at the original Car Wash Angels, saying it: "was one of those movies by director Jim Holliday that most people either love completely or hate with a passion in my experience. The DVD release years ago reminded me of that when some railed about the man behind the scenes and others practically built a shrine in his honor. For my part, I always liked Car Wash Angels and was somewhat irked when the remake, Car Wash Angels:
Wet N Wild, came out as a lesser entity but in retrospect; the homage was clearly a tribute by a person with a different sense of style who understood that imitation would be pointless. The original had it all and had it all in droves so check it out as a free copy on the remake or as a value priced classic but if you've never watched the movie, you might be doing yourself a favor."

Fans of lesbian blockbusters will be thrilled to know how much sex Girlvana 2
offered: "Mike Quasar has long been the best director at Zero
Tolerance, having been recruited at the company's start up by owner Greg Alves for very good reason years ago. His technical expertise is equal to almost anyone in the industry but it's his eye for what works that truly sets him apart from the horde of wannabe directors that think anyone with a C-light and a camera can be the next porn version of George Lucas. That said, this being the time of year when all the biggest budget titles are released, his blockbuster lesbian flick that has been setting the industry's ears burning, Girlvana
2, is now out and I took a look at it to see if the hype was real or just a bunch of crap as is usually the case. Well, in large part, this was one of the top flicks of the year since it kept true to form throughout the scenes, offering up a couple of different types of scenes for fans to enjoy. Girlvana 2 was one of the best movies by Mike Quasar at Zero Tolerance this year. While I haven't seen everything the guy has made, this was clearly a winner on several levels with great replay and stroke value, some solid energy and chemistry, superior production values, and more fuck for your lesbian loving buck then you'll find on the market today.
In short, Girlvana 2 was easily worth a rating of Highly Recommended if you like women who like women having a hot time."

Mr. Houston also enjoyed the retro "Not The Lovin Kind was special to director Jim Holliday for several reasons and he took great care to make it a winner. Those who think the fusion of GOOD music, decent story, and hot sex are something that has only recently taken place might want to check this one out since the songs would easily fit in on just about any C&W or crossover radio stations currently but the sex was also a lot of fun with Shayla giving up her perfect pucker and others displaying just as much energy to warrant a rating of Recommended. In short, Not The Lovin Kind stood the test of time for me thanks in large part to the technical values combining with the stroke and replay action built in so many years ago. The movie was a side project of Jim with Shayla providing the impetus for him to show his skills in a different manner; clearly thinking ahead by leaving this tribute to his favorite gal that remains a favorite of mine nearly ten years later."

We liked Destination
Dirtpipe 2 too, suggesting: "William H.
Nutsack is one truly demented guy but if you're looking for a little of his sick imagination, his latest flick, Destination
Dirtpipe 2, will likely please you no end. Like the well received Destination
Dirtpipe 1, the movie was focused on food fetish action followed by anal antics, a combination that sort of seems fitting in this day and age of recycling. A cake would be brought into the scene by the lady, the couple would get all messy with it, and they'd eat cake and have it too as the saying (sort of) goes. Three of the scenes were shot in Europe but the women all looked like top end hookers you'd want to nail repeatedly (or at least until you maxed out your credit cards). Destination
Dirtpipe 2 was a solid choice from director William H.
Nutsack's bag of tricks. The women weren't all perfect at what they did nor was the action always perfectly consistent but the overall levels of heat and playfulness made Destination
Dirtpipe 2 worthy of checking out as a title I can Recommended. The food fetish crowd should consider this one as strokable as they'll find though and need to add it to their collections, so adjust your personal ratings according to how much you're into this kind of thing."

Dirge found the initial release by Sllab (Balls spelled backwards), The New Neighbors, to: "deliver some definitive dicking. All the performers are passionate in their couplings and the palpable chemistry makes for some incredibly hot sequences. Not everything works, and Castle could have allowed a little more positional leeway in his individual pairings but when compared to the bone dry exposition that seems to drag on and on, these simplistic sexual moments are well worth the money. Couples will also enjoy the less than aggressive approach to the porking, meaning that The New Neighbors easily earns a Cohabitation Certification. In a clear case of being careful for what you wish for, Frank Castle's fondness for the XXX of the past more or less mangles everything interesting and engaging in this overlong straight feature. Even the tacky twist ending which argues for a potential sequel gives us pause. With a better screenplay, this could have been a classic. As it stands now, it's a throwback with very little of what made the notion nostalgic in the first place."

Ice cream dripping was in store for fans of Flavor of the
Month: "Mark Cashman has been around porn longer than many of the ladies currently in the industry have been alive to hear his friends talk and that kind of experience often translates into quality porn production, as evidenced by today's review of Flavor of the Month. The idea was to have the ladies sit around and eat ice cream before using it as a sexual aide, with the traditional fantasy of watching them lick the cones providing lots of stroke value. In all then, it was a lot of fun to watch and fans of ice cream will like it even more then usual. Flavor of the Month was one of the best movies by director Mark Cashman that I've seen (though I haven't had much of an opportunity to review his work, I've seen more than a few titles in the past). It had a splendidly diverse cast, a fun theme, and production values that accentuated the look of the ladies as most of them provided a hot show with stroke and replay value worth discussing. The extras were kind of light and there was a need for more polishing up of a few scenes but I still thought it was worthy of being Recommended. In short, Flavor of the Month will last a lot longer than that for your personal pleasure but it's nice to see that the director was given a chance to really show what he's made of for once; especially with such a solid cast."

Green has been kind of quiet lately but he sure enjoyed parts of Girl Girl Studio, the latest Private offering on their Black Label enterprise,
saying: "Yet another solid release from Private's Black Label series.
The girls that Keana Moire has rounded up for Girl Girl Studio are quite radiant. Just checkout the front cover art for all the proof you need. It's too bad that the DVD is practically void of any extras, but at least the audio and video quality are top notch. The productions values give a great look to this release, and I found the close-ups to be very appealing. The bottom line is, if you're looking for very attractive girls going at it with each other, I'd recommend you check this DVD out."

Don didn't mince words about Big Booty White Girls 4, writing that: "it had an awful lot to like too. The ladies were almost all swell choices, the action was typically active and heated, with lots of enthusiasm to increase the replay and stroke value of the scenes. The extras were kind of weak for an Evil Angel release so I rated it as Recommended though I could understand why a fan of the director might increase it a notch out of charity. In short, Big Booty White Girls 4 was much like Big Booty White Girls 1, Big Booty White Girls 2, Big Booty White Girls 3, and Big Booty White Moms thematically and if you enjoyed any of those, you'll almost certainly find plenty to appease your sexual appetite for interracial action with this one as well."

The Mooninite found Fetish Fanatic 4 to be a nice change of pace for Belladonna's series, saying: "It's not as rough or violent as some of Belladonna's other recent work but it's definitely sexier." Given the extremely rough sex the lady has been prone to showing in recent years, this might be just the change of pace she needs to treat fans as much as her recent return to doing men onscreen. The cast included a wide variety of other performers, including a couple of trannies but one of the highlights seemed to be when anal queen Sandra Romain totally dominated the girl in a very heated tryst that included all holes getting thoroughly worked over to the extreme, pushing even Bella to her limits.

You'd think our veteran reviewers would get jaded with all the porn they watch and only find the truly hardcore titles worth watching but then they seem to get off on shows like Buttman at Nudes A Poppin 19 just ad readily, convincing us there might be hope for them yet. The DVD extensively concentrates on the numerous strippers competing in the yearly Ponderosa Sun Club show (held in Roselawn,
Indiana) called Nudes A Poppin. Don said it: "was as much fun as Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 16 and Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 15 thanks in large part to the natural talent of director John Stagliano for letting the gals do their thing and capturing as much footage as possible. In short, the combination of ladies, nudity, fun and attempt to show some of the highlights made Buttman at Nudes A Poppin 19 one of the most enjoyable of the non-explicit titles released by Evil Angel since Smother Me."

Namrufmot made it under the deadline this week with a trio of tantalizing titles consisting of Barely Legal 62; "Considering they're up to the 61st installment in the series, you know Hustler is doing something right. I found each and every scene to be thoroughly enjoyable, with plenty of playful and energetic sex.
Had Hustler provided more extras, and is some scene more lighting, I would have giving it a high rating. It would still make for a decent purchase if you can find it on sale", I Can't Believe I'm Doing This: "This release might not be a blockbuster, but it does provide many memorable moments. The girls are all attractive, the sex is passionate, and the technical quality is solid. Also, and more importantly, I feel it would hold up to repeated viewings. If you're in the market for another Adult DVD (that is wife friendly) then consider picking this title up", and Fresh Ripe &
Ready: "Even though the title is a little misleading, the girls aren't that young-looking and some are seasoned porn stars, Red Light put together another solid release. Highlighted by some spectacular scenes (Vixen & Tobi), you get a DVD that is sure to hold up to repeated viewings."

Houston enjoyed revisiting with one of his favorite directors of the recent past with Black Guys In White Thighs, saying: "It wasn't long ago that director David Luger was considered one of the rising stars of gonzo direction at Red Light District but as the new ownership decided to take a different course in how he handled business affairs, David was left without a home.
Thankfully, he was picked up by Mach 2 Entertainment and the first title of his that I got hold of was Black Guys In White Thighs; a set of five scenes of white women doing black men with some flair. I know that there are a lot of similar titles on the market so I was hoping that David's straightforward, no bullshit manner of direction would allow the cast to strut their stuff rather than be overly demanding as some of his peers are these days. Black Guys In White Thighs showed that director David Luger still had the ability to make decent porn; using lesser known (in most cases here) ladies rather than the bigger names that so many others seem infatuated with. The technical values were high end with crisp, flat lighting, and the cast seemed to like working with one another more than a little bit, elevating the rating of Black Guys In White Thighs to Recommended. I hope he can continue to showcase women of all types in future efforts as well as he did for this cast but given his past quality, I don't think fans have too much to worry about."
