Zero Tolerance has long been on the radar screen for the reviewers at X Critic as a company established to provide quality material. One of their latest releases, Double Decker Sandwich 8 by director Mike Quasar, provides the kind of quality we all like to see, so we made it the Spotlight Title of the Week. Reviewer Don Houston said this about the DVD in question: "Mike Quasar has long been one of the most technically gifted and skilled directors in porn, serving under numerous directors and working under some of the most adverse of conditions but often managing to achieve the impossible in terms of getting the best performances out of some of the most difficult personalities in porn. His humor tends to put people at ease and his rapier wit often serves to establish exactly where he's coming from better than any lengthy diatribe you'll find from his critics. His latest release is Double Decker Sandwich 8, a series of threesome scenes with some very talented ladies who end each scene by doing some cumswapping. The back cover said it like this: "Eat Fresh! Double Decker Sandwich 8 was the first in the series that I had seen in almost three years and I have to admit that Mike Quasar did a fine job with a great cast. While I was cheesed off that there was no strip tease footage as advertised on the back DVD cover, I did think the levels of quality fuck for the buck, combined with the other extras and lovely ladies, merited a rating of Highly Recommended. The emphasis was on large breasts, lingerie, and fun times, a solid combination worthy of praise when handled as well as Mike did this time. The levels of heat, passion, and chemistry were also much higher than average, marking this as a highly replayable stroke flick." Don isn't known for giving glowing praise without merit so this one looks like quite a winner to us.

Sneak Peek: My First Porn 6


One of the benefits of reading reviews at X Critic is that you get an early head's up from time to time on titles before they are released to the general public. This week, we saw a look at My First Porn 6 by director Robby D., the DVD described as: "the idea behind this series is that Jack is actually shooting porn, not beauty contests or scamming gals with music video work, and as a novice director he tries to incorporate all the flaws of modern porn as what he wants to shoot. The humor of the scenes comes in when he runs into the everyday troubles of the industry (flaky gals, language barriers, over done stereotyped settings and concepts, etc.) and the occasional pearl of wisdom by his mentor, Leo Pradnesh (by Harry Bali with a mechanically driven voice over by one of the creative geniuses behind the scenes of the franchise). This time, each of the scenes continued to demonstrate some of the problems that pop up on porn shoots, from the condom only gal, to the inconvenience of a gal's period, to flaking by male talent; all handled with the silly make do attitude a guerilla director like Robby D. is capable of projecting when he's in character. Note that the one condom used wasn't used for the entire scene and seemed more a prop than anything else, as well as a closer look at the reported cherry busting of Cody Bangs. My First Porn 6 was not the strongest release of the series but it was still interesting how director Robby D. can humorously look at the porn industry and all the things that can go wrong so often on a set. The non-sex stuff doesn't get in the way of the sexual activity but serves to enhance it most of the time, so even the weaker scenes had some decent entertainment value. Not relying on the lovely contract stars here, he took a big chance and it didn't always pay off but I did enjoy myself enough to rate this one as Recommended thanks in large part to the work of Carmella, Holly and Kelsey (the other two didn't live up to their potential nearly enough). If you just like straightforward sex and lots of fuck for the buck though, you'll want to rent this one first as it was far shyer in terms of sexual material than other volumes of the related series. Still, the fun factor was high and it looked to be well worth a look so check it out when it's released next month."

Highlights of The Week

Reviewer Don Houston found DDs & Derrieres notable for several reasons, stating: "Gina Lynn: Dark Side was perhaps the turning point of the young starlet's career as a truly sexual performer. I had seen a number of her titles previously and found them mostly wanting, though she developed a following based on some mainstream efforts and dancing skills on the exotic dance club circuit too. Still, after Jules was through with her, many thought "where could she go from there" and that could have provided her a nice exit from porn but she wanted more. The DVD showed Gina in a lot of action, more than anything other than Dark Side in fact, with a couple of very skilled gals from years past continuing their comebacks, Lisa Ann and Shyla Stylez on hand to assist. DDs & Derrieres had some technical flaws in a scene but the amount of footage starring Gina Lynn alone will make this a must have DVD for her fans. The levels of fuck for the buck, the casting, and the quality of performance offered by the three leading ladies of the movie were all enough to convince me the DVD should be rated as Highly Recommended. The minor quirks observed and other rough edges did nothing to lower the replay stroke value of the movie so if you have any interest in the three ladies on display (on the front DVD cover), you'll certainly want to check this one out as it had a lot to offer."

Reviewer Ravyn found several titles to appreciate such as: Busty Beauties 20th Anniversary; "Each opening scene gave us a insight to the AVN show. The interviews with the girls all proving that each one has literally climbed the ladder and has produced a scene or two in there upcoming movies. My Girlfriend's Whore Friend showed that while Evil Angel may well have lost the directing talents of Jules Jordan this year, they also added Manuel Ferrara and Erik Everhard to the mix to compensate. These two joined director Jonni Darkko as the new crew types, meaning directors with new ideas and new ways of doing things to add to the established formulas the older crowd at the company. Jonni's latest title is My Girlfriend's Whore Friend, a set of scenes where two gals did each other and a man, acting like it was in part to fulfill a fantasy. In all, it was a very good offering by the director that I really found appealing. My Girlfriend's Whore Friend proved that the skills of Jonni Darkko were still evolving as he provided some great technical skills to go with the awesome cast. The amount of fuck for the buck, replay value, and sheer stroke value combined well with the better than average extras; making this a title I can suggest as Highly Recommended. For the most part, it was a good show to enjoy and I found little to complain about given the care that went into making it. If you like threesomes, this was one of the very best titles I've seen in a long time.

Reviewer Colonel Mustard also found several great titles, including: One on One #5; "a 2006 release featuring 6 lovely women demonstrating their appetite for a stiff cock in six separate scenes. I enjoy Red Light District's approach to gonzo style pornography. They have made it into an art form that few companies can replicate. This DVD gave the user something new. Scenes seemed to have that added flavor of actual passionate kissing and the energetic fucking where each participant seems to actually care about one another's pleasure. The whole theme of this DVD was fetish style bonding that will appeal to a lot of viewers, your humble narrator included. In this release Nacho wasn't his usual overly aggressive self, which I found refreshing. I have to Recommend this DVD as it was refreshingly different from a lot of the porn on the market", and Boy Fucks Girl; "Every DVD that I've seen from the Platinum X line from Red Light District has been very solid and this DVD is no exception. The tease footage, of the woman playing with herself with the sounds of sex in the background is fantastic. Aubrey Addams and Vivian West really stole the show on this DVD. I have to Recommend this DVD. It featured hot women, hot sex in Red Light's famous gonzo style."

Reviewer Don also appreciated Fresh Meat 21, saying: "John Leslie has long been in porn as a performer but his directing has been even better in the eyes of many so it's no wonder that his lucrative distribution deal with top flight Evil Angel has lasted so long. Essentially, he has a free hand to be as creative as he wants, reaping the benefit of whatever sales come in as a result. This has led to a loyal following of fans that appreciate the nuances John provides even when the lighting or other technical values are low end since the raw energy is much more an important factor in his productions. His latest title is Fresh Meat 21, picking up thematically where Fresh Meat 20 left off. John is a pervert with a camera who stays largely quiet as the scenes develop, typically taking place in the darker areas of the large house he used in most of the scenes. The choice of cast enhanced the dynamic of the scenes substantially this time with not a single scene left behind as a result, showing one of his strongest works in a while. Fresh Meat 21 once again proved that John still has the ability to compete with the younger generation of directors at Evil Angel like Manuel Ferrara and Erik Everhard. The DVD didn't have as much fuck for the buck as some of the latest titles coming out of the company (which have run in excess of four hours each at times) but the quality versus quantity argument aside, this was a finely crafted piece of work. I decided to rate it as Highly Recommended given the casting, the heated performances they gave, the levels of fuck for the buck and the interesting manner in which they were all put together. It wasn't cookie cutter porn, nor was it supposed to be, marking a title that might work for many of you jaded on the hordes of titles flooding the marketplace with little to distinguish them from one another."

The emphasis was not on anal sex so much as beautiful female asses and ladies that had fun with the hardcore sexual activities we've come to expect of projects associated with Vince, giving Todd a leg up (and ass in the air) on much of the competition. Bomb Shell Bottoms was the second release by director Todd Todd and a notch in his belt in terms of providing a strokable experience with solid replay value. The levels of fuck for the buck, the attractiveness of the ladies and their sexual skill, and the overall package were such that it was clear he had improved his levels of skill since the last outing and earned a rating of Recommended in the process. If you're looking for hot, tight porn chicks worthy of your seed, you'll like it too; especially if you like curvy ass to appreciate."

Reviewer Namrufmot appeared to enjoy both Nut Busters: "I've seen literally dozens of Hustler's DVDs over the years, and this one ranks up there with the highest. What makes it stand out is the quality of the girls, the energetic sex, and the great camerawork. While it doesn't really cater to any one fetish, fans of porn in general will want to check this title out. His latest release is Make Me Creamy #2, the second in the series of his creampie extravaganza, providing some very skillful hotties that willingly take internal male pop shots after heated sex. If you saw Make Me Creamy 1, you'll know just how real the scenes were as well as how fresh Vince likes his ladies. Make Me Creamy #2 was another title by Vince Vouyer that I can suggest as Recommended or better given the quality of the ladies, their overall sexual skills, the amount of fuck for the buck, and splendid extras offered up. There were some minor technical issues regarding camera placement and editing but they were negligible compared to many other companies in the gonzo business. If you enjoy young ladies getting creampies, you'll probably think this one is even better than I'm rating it, but this was a nice selection of youthful ladies with varying levels of freshness and skills to check out."

Dollface: "So Pulse has done the world a really great service here by giving us some modern, extremely attractive women, dressed in very authentic looking styles and settings having some hot sex. The movie is shot very well; with a great soft focus film look effect that really adds to the atmosphere. Really my only gripe with this movie is the sound. You don't hear much of the action, and the music if far too loud. As I said before, overall this is a great hot, unusual flick, which would be perfect for couples or those of you who are into vintage look girls. This is far hotter and better than most of the Pin Up or Alt Porn I've seen that would appeal to the same crowd. If this style could be applied to a plot driven movie, it would be great. I look forward to seeing more like this one."

The staff found much to like with Baker's Dozen 8 as well, stating that: "Brandon Iron has been something of a staple in porn for years on both sides of the camera. While many others in the field of porn took the easy route and copied the success of others, Brandon charted into the unknown and dangerous waters of creativity; following his own muse to make movies that would get him off and let the cards fall where they may. This approach scares some companies so Brandon has bounced around a lot, especially given the rougher edge that he uses at times when pushing the envelope of a gal's sexual ability. That said, one of his most popular series at Platinum X Pictures has been the semen soaking Baker's Dozen series where a gal will have hardcore sex and then face a huge number of third tier mope squad members in a blowbang. The latest volume in the series is Baker's Dozen 8, similar to me last look at the series with Baker's Dozen 5, following the established formula with some attractive ladies and great extras. Baker's Dozen 8 is much like the kind of show that Brandon Iron is known for; you'll either like it or hate it with little middle ground. I didn't count every load but if it was less then the advertised "62 frosty facials", I'd be really surprised. Further, Brandon went out of his way to find some very appealing ladies that had the kind of energy, passion for sperm, and sexual skill needed to make the show a winner. Add in some very cool extras and you have the formula for a title worth a rating of Highly Recommended. In short, if you enjoy seeing massive quantities of semen covering the faces of various ladies who also have hardcore sex (not to be confused with the multitude of titles on the market that only have oral in such a flick), you'll get into this one repeatedly."

Reviewer Michael Vega loved both Nacho Rides Again: "When I was assigned to watch this disc, I have to admit, I was less than pleased. When my path had crossed Nacho's in the past, his over aggressiveness really drained any enjoyment out of whatever scene I was watching. Actually, "over aggressiveness" might be the wrong adjective - he was borderline demeaning. However, he wasn't as bad in this flick and he does a great job directing. Not to mention that he's surrounded himself with some very sexy ladies that looked very good fucking", and No Man's Land: Latin Edition #7: "As I've said in the past, I'm not a fan of girl/girls scenes. It's not that I mind seeing two girls devouring each other, it's just completely limiting and after a while it becomes tedious for me. HOWEVER, if I'm watching an actress I find attractive or that is capable of generating heat, then it's far from tedious and practically all the ladies on this disc fell into both categories for me. While Marquetta and Victoria were the reasons I requested this disc, the other ladies did a great job of making a hot summer night even hotter."

Fans of Red Light District's old days will appreciate Home Wreckers: "Combat Zone is the company founded by the infamous Dion Giarrusso (best known as the founding father of Red Light District/Platinum X Pictures) earlier this year. His goal is to reinvent the gonzo format by going back to the roots that many fans appreciate; blowing off the circus act sex other companies have gone to in favor of finding the youngest, hottest gals available as consumers have demanded. The latest release by the company is Home Wreckers; a series of unrelated scenes where the gals were all young, willing, and able; most of them quite skilled in the art of milking a nut too. Home Wreckers was another title I felt earned a rating of Recommended for Combat Zone thanks in large part to the quality of the ladies, the action on screen, and the amounts of fuck for the buck present. In my years of watching porn, I've noticed that most flicks that focus on new gals to the business fall short because of the limited skills of the performers but the majority of the time, this group did just fine (or better). In short, if you like attractive new gals with all natural bodies and the freshness that comes from being new to the industry, you'll find this one a great title with lots of replay value and strokability. I can't wait to see if director Johnny Boston can make the magic happen in his next movie, or if he has to rely solely on the excellent casting of his mentor, Dion Giarrusso."

Disco Dirge said Greatest Squirters Ever: "was a tough call for The Dirge. Finding himself more than a little hopped up after watching this near three hour spew-a-thon, he instantly thought of awarding this disc the highest honor possible, the X Critic Collector's Series score. But once the blood flow returned to his brain, and his reasoning was reinvigorated, a re-evaluation bumped the ranking downward. This is still a Highly Recommended outing, a title that will please even the fussiest fans of lady liquid. But it is also a fetish, and something not everyone will enjoy with equal erotic aplomb. Therefore, it receives the slightly lower grade. Couples will definitely enjoy this passionate presentation, and a Cohabitation Certification is easily awarded. If you've been burned before by DVDs that promised an excess of feminine fountains, only to deliver a decidedly dried up bit of juiceless smut, have no fear."

Fans of Jonni Darkko will rejoice that his latest release, Boob Bangers 3, was one of our top picks of late, showing much of the same qualities that made his previous hits like Load Sharing, Bodacious Booty, Bet Your Ass 3, Girls Love Girls, Suck It Dry 2, Trophy Whores, and Angels of Debauchery 5 so worthy of your money. Reviewer Don Houston said: "Jonni Darkko has long been in good company as a director at Evil Angel and the recent addition of Manuel Ferrara and Erik Everhard to the rooster as Jules left, has probably left him feeling a bit like a third wheel given the media attention that all get. Still, his technical skill has long been surpassed by his vision of what works in a good porno, a case in point being his latest title for the company, Boob Bangers 3. The emphasis of the scenes was on large breasts (real or fake), and he had a great cast to work with so I had high hopes for the title to succeed (or is that suck seed?) in a way that many of his recent DVDs have done. Boob Bangers 3 wasn't some weak ass erotica crud that only the least discriminating could appreciate and it didn't have the circus act sex that only a deviant could appreciate but it served well to showcase most of the ladies in a positive manner. That said, Tory's scene was the pinnacle of the sex with even the weakest scene proving load launch worthy. If you enjoy watching professionals that enjoy their trade, you'll likely find this one worth your time, money, and semen; proving Jonni still has what it takes to make it in the big leagues."
