While there might not have been a lot of blockbusters released in the past week, our reviewers sure found a lot of great titles on their plates to review. From ongoing series like the gonzo comedy Jack's Playground 26 (where director Robby D. used Montel the talking dildo to address reviewer Don Houston's expected critique of the only weak scene), the newest entry into the virtual sex genre, Virtual Sex with Teagan Presley where the lovely young lass was showcased with some new options to select as we ran her through her paces, director Francesca Le's latest offering in the interracial market Gringo Dicks in Latin Chicks 3, the latest artcore release by Ninn Worx, Neo Pornographia 3, to the spy parody from VCA, Joanna's Angels, all were considered highly regarded by our crew of perverts. While the above titles were considered the cream of the crop, there were many other titles worth a look too with a lot of well received interracial titles such as the exploits of Shane Diesel in My Daughter's Fucking Blackzilla!, the competing Janine titles where she showed critics how wrong they were about her reported aversion to dark meat in Janine's Been Blackmaled and the more artistically made Mrs. Behavin', to the Asian hotties that turned reviewer Rob Randell's head inTight & Asian 7; there were plenty of people from all races having sexual fun on camera. An area of porn often overlooked as somehow less worthy of attention, the compilation, was the focal point of Michael Vega's review of The Best of Tyler Faith, earlier this year. Tyler may not be a contract performer at Jill Kelly Productions anymore but she was in back to back scenes of varying heat and passion this time. One comment he made seems to address the show as a whole when he said it was "pretty damn hot". Blue Room Feature: Mrs Behavin' vs Janine's Been Blackmaled

Digital Playground and Vivid Entertainment have long been compared to one another by those wanting to segregate the two companies into the marketing niche called "couples porn". While most of the movies the two companies make certainly appeal to women more than average, I think both have provided ample amounts of hardcore action, including women dominating men at Vivid and anal creampies at Digital Playground (to name but a couple of examples). Still, each company relies on a contract performer system designed to promote various hotties at the same time as their respective company so it's inevitable that they clashed when personalities got in the way. That said, what better way to compare the two companies by virtue of similar releases by each containing the same contract star? Today's comparison will use the lovely Janine as the focal point, keeping in mind that she's worked for both companies and is one of the hottest gals on the market at the moment.

With all the talk about the lovely Janine since the release of Pirates, it seemed like a great time to take a look at a couple of her latest releases, each made under a different contract but having similar themes. Janine started out in porn with the dance act Blondage before going on to star in a great many lesbian flicks for Vivid Entertainment. Fans clamored for her to start screwing guys with the kind of energy and chemistry she showed with women and not long ago she finally gave in. Considering the wait of over ten years, one segment of her fan base thought she'd be doing granny porn before they'd be satisfied since they wanted to see her do an interracial scene. Since this was one of her fantasies to begin with, she willingly participated in not one but two such scenes; with Digital Playground's Mrs. Behavin' coming out first but Vivid's Janine's Been Blackmaled having been shot a year prior for release a mere two days after the competition. True fans will want to get both movies but how do they compare to one another you ask? Well, that's the subject of today's Blue Room column.

Sex:

This being about porn, the first category to be compared should rightfully be sexual conduct. Mrs. Behavin' came out as an early lead in this category as it started with Janine taking on the massive Mandingo and newcomer Dexter Dizzle. That she'd do interracial is still the subject of controversy but to jump right in like this shows some guts. Janine's Been Blackmaled didn't sit still though and offered up studly Julian as the second scene in the movie. In M.B., she came up with a scene starring her and Evil Angel's newest contract director, Erik Everhard, before finishing up with Scott Nails; even having a newly shot bonus scene between her and new contract starlet Sophia Santi in a swimming pool. J.B.B countered with a BBG starring her, Sean Micheals, and Mr. Marcus in the driveway and living room; ending the show with a scene between her and Evan Stone. This was a very close call to make, with the advantage going to neither since Janine seemed to really get into the sex in both movies, particularly the interracial scenes each movie had. Point: Tie

Style:

In terms of stylish presentation, Mrs. Behavin' took the lead for the exceptionally clear HD visuals as provided in anamorphic widescreen. Janine's Been Blackmaled gained points for having the vocal track intact but men are more interested in visual stimulation so each had plenty of room for improvement. J.B.B. also lost out since it was a feature porno with a weak story, using the extra length of the movie for barely related plot devices that often didn't work. One look at the pictures provided in the two reviews will show how much better M.B. looked but I got the impression that Janine left Vivid before the movie was finished so this is understandable. Point: Mrs. Behavin'

Extras:

This is an area that is always subject to a lot of controversy because people rate extras so differently. Personally, I prefer extras that are made exclusively for the movie and not generic add-ons that have little value. Mrs. Behavin' had a very nice scene between Janine and Sophia Santi in the pool but it was a lesbian scene and very short. The Behind the Scenes feature lasted under ten minutes but was nicely done and all the other extras were fairly generic. Janine's Been Blackmaled had a far lengthier Behind the Scenes feature lasting 21 minutes and containing some extra sex footage as well as 5 lesbian scenes from past works (on top of generic extras usually offered by Vivid). My fellow judges pointed out that both movies had some value adding extra content but this was a case where the decision was stacked in favor of quantity. Point: Janine's Been Blackmaled

Packaging & Intangibles:

Both movies offered similar packaging this time with Janine getting ravaged by her two black partners with the color black liberally used on each. During her "forbidden" scene in Mrs. Behavin', the men didn't wear condoms a huge selling point with certain crowds, but they did in Janine's Been Blackmaled. Still, Janine herself complemented Sean Michaels during her audio commentary on Pirates for the great job he did in Janine's Been Blackmaled so this adds to the mix as well. Had the other scenes been as heated, would've taken the prize but her overall work in Celeste's Mrs. Behavin' evened the score there. I also liked that Digital Playground shot and released M.B. far quicker than J.B.B. (releasing it 2 days earlier and having shot it over a year after), a quirk of production that Vivid needs to work on. The only other factor that really played into the DVD releases was that Janine's Been Blackmaled had that accursed forced spam at the beginning of the disc lasting over five minutes. Whatever revenue stream it brings in, it can't be enough for this reviewer to accept as a necessary evil. Point: Mrs. Behavin'

Well, in a very close race (pun intended), Mrs. Behavin' edged out Janine's Been Blackmaled to win the title of better DVD. Fans will want to see both movies but I included some pictures of each in their respective reviews to give you an idea of what they looked like. If you like the more artistic directing style of Celeste over the straightforward directing style of Paul Thomas, than by all means reverse the recommendation but each director managed to capture Janine's fantasy to work with two black men better than I think could've been expected. This is as much a tribute to Janine's sexual skill and desirability as anything else but I'm glad she still has that special quality I saw in her so many years ago.

Titles We're Looking Forward To

As she gets settled into her contract with titles like Circus, gorgeous hotty Lanny Barby shows the world that Vivid is upping the stakes of the contract wars where such gals do more and more types of sex acts to get their fans off.
