Bloomer Yang: Visionary Director and Hilarious Comedian

Hi Bloomer! First of all, congratulations on directing the Fleshbot Awards’ 2022 “Best Oral Scene,” “Snoop Around,” with Kira Noir and David Lee!

You have been described as a director and writer with a visionary mind. How and when did you break into the adult industry?
I got in the industry through a friend's referral. Model Media/Delphine, the company I'm currently working for and I have some mutual friends, and somehow the connection led to me and then so I was recruited.

This was your and Delphine Films’ first award. How did you feel when you heard you won?
I was super excited when I knew we won the first award. This recognition meant a lot to me. It shows that if you put in effort in what you do, people will appreciate it. It made me want to keep creating high-quality content.

In his interview, David Lee said that he knew “Snoop Around” would be unique while shooting. Did you also know that it was going to be a huge success?
I don't think about awards or recognition when I'm making films. I think what's more important during the filmmaking process is to focus on creating the best quality it can get instead of worrying about if this or that will become a success. So, I didn't think too much about any awards when we were filming. I was focusing on watching the monitor, making sure all the details were paid attention to.

What do you remember the most about that shoot?
I was completely blown away by Kira Noir and David Lee's visceral performances. They had great chemistry and delivered a very authentic performance. The oral performance delivered by Kira was a work of art. It was sexy, real, and memorable.

How did it feel to have fans vote for this fantastic scene that you wrote and directed?
It definitely feels great to have fans rooting for you. I think a lot of times people dont' realize the reason why they have a career is because of the support from the fans. I truly appreciate all the fans voting for us and I promise to keep creating great content for them.

Your Fleshbot fans also nominated Delphine Films’ “Feel It Again” with Charlotte Sins and Tommy Pistol for Movie of the Year. Were you surprised?
I was surprised, but I was also not. "Feel It Again" is a light-hearted drama with heavy acting and long dialogue, and its ending is a bit bittersweet.  I was surprised that such a not-so-happy story was appreciated by the adult industry. I was also not surprised because Charlotte Sins and Tommy Pistol did a wonderful job and made the story so believable.

Because you're a comedian, is it particularly special to be nominated for AVN’s “Mark Stone Awards for Outstanding Comedy” for “Cooking Show”?
Yes. It's so special. I wrote and directed "Cooking Show" which is a comedy-driven featurette with rapid-fire jokes and comedic performance. I love comedy. I love jokes. And it was such an honor that a piece of comedy porn I created was appreciated and recognized.

Bloomer Yang is famous for being innovative and a great storyteller. What do you like the most about writing and directing for Delphine Films?
I like that I get to write a lot of stories about human relationships and human sexuality. I enjoy figuring out how to make two people seduce each other, how to make people meet each other, how to make two people who are unlikely to have sex with each other have sex, etc. I enjoy the screenwriting process. It's like a math problem only that there is no correct answer.

What are you working on now?
I'm currently working on a 5-episode adult series about a female stand-up comedian. I'm very excited about this project because I don't believe there is a lot of porn, or even any, about female stand-up comedians.
