"Great!! After the long adventure of fighting cancer, I'm finally back to work. And I can do anything I want."

Congratulations on being back in production. How does it feel to be making porn again?

"It’s the best thing ever! I’m so happy to be back on set."

A much bigger congrats and all the love to you for your win over breast cancer. How is your health these days? How are you feeling?

"Thank you. I'm still on medication. I'm in remission right now. And I have nine more years before I’m finished with the medication. The side effects of the medicine are really strong. I’m trying to find my happy place to be comfortable, relax and just roll with it all for the next nine years."

What did you learn about yourself going through that fight?

"Definitely that I have a strong mind and an even stronger will."

Has being a cancer survivor changed your work as a performer? Has it changed your porn?

"Well, the most visible change is my right nipple is fake. I lost it with the mastectomy. The only downside is that my co-stars can touch it, but they can't squeeze or do anything crazy. I haven’t booked with any hard BDSM studios. I have to figure out my limits with my boobs tied up. It makes me sad, because I love BDSM. I was also worried how my fans would perceive me after having cancer. I didn’t want them to think, 'oh poor Marica Hase' and stop masturbating to me. My thought was that they can’t feel sorry for me and cum for Marica at the same time but that wasn’t the case. They can still cum for me. And they have said to me that I’m strong and that makes me even more sexy. I’m thankful for that."

What kind of support did you get from the industry while you fought the cancer?

"Not just the industry but my fans also donated for my initial surgery and some of the follow up ones."

What goals do you have for yourself as a performer these days?

"I want to be Marica Hase forever. And not just being a performer but I’d love to create something. When I retire from actual sex scenes, I still want to be able to create something for my fans."

What makes you happiest these days? What makes you smile?

"My cats, fans, friends, and when my mom comes to visit from Japan."

What is coming up for you? What should your fans be on the look out for?

"My documentary movie project is still filming. They shot it here in U.S.A. and also in Japan. They has stopped filmed because COVID, but we will be starting again soon and I’m so excited. I also got a mainstream talent agency too. I’m interested in all work in front of camera and I want to try everything!"
